Hi I'm Marvin

I'm a Mormon. My wife Julie and I are both third generation native Arizonians.

About Me

I own and run a family furniture business my father started in 1959. Two of my 4 sons work with me in the business. My hoby is horses and gardening. We live on 5 acres with my wife and son who just returned from a mission to Long Island New York. He learned to fluently speak spanish during the two years he served there. Shortly after my son's return my 4 sons and I went on a 3 day horseback ride up into a wilderness area just East of Phoenix. I also have 3 daughters. 5 of our children are married giving us 21 grandchildren come this October. My 86 year old mother lives next door. It is wonderful to be close by and be able to help her when ever she needs help. This spring I planted 50 strawberry plants and for the 1st time I had some nice strawberries to eat! Our corn is just about ripe, and every day we are picking a few tomatoes. We have some young chickens and gather 2 to 3 eggs every day, we hope the will increase as the rest of the hens mature.

Why I am a Mormon

As a Mormon I follow the teachings of Jesus Christ as given in the bible. I fully believe the bible from the creation to the end of the New Testament as far as it is translated correctly. I look forward to the day that Christ will return to the earth as prophesied in the Bible. The restored Gospel of Jesus Christ gives me and my family a strong foundation that helps me get through the many trials of life. We have raised our family in the gospel. My wife and I have been sealed together for time and eternity In one of the Temples built in this dispensation. It is a great comfort that we will be together with our parents and children for the eternities. The Church has helped us to raise each of our children with strong teachings of morality, honesty and love for their fellow man through activities and service. We have great joy in seeing our grand children grow up in lives full of the Gospel. Especially in this trubled world where so many people don't know of or understand that the original Gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored in these latter days with Apostles and a living Prophet that receives revelation and guidance from Jesus Christ, who"s Church it is.

How I live my faith

For the last 2 years I have enjoyed teaching a Sunday School class of the youth 14 to 16 years old. They are all wonderful boys and girls, trying the grow and learn and do the things that are right. At this age the youth also have to opportunity at school to attend the church Seminary where they study the scriptures and learn good principles of how to live and interact in this life. Before teaching the Sunday School class I worked for many years with the boys in all aspects of scouting. I have also served in many leadership possitions in the church. All of these positions are of course non salaried as all the church runs on a lay ministry. But, the rewards far outweigh all the effort.
