Hi I'm Stephanie

I am a full time student. I live in Idaho. I love to sing. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to go outdoors and go hiking or camping. I am not a fan of the bugs that are found out there though... I am married, and am a full time student studying Music Education. I like to dance, especially clogging which is sort of like tap. I live with my husband who is also going to school in a little apartment, we love life.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true. I know this because I have read the Book of Mormon and prayed to ask God, my Heavenly Father if it was true. I got an answer that was undeniable, that it is true, without a doubt. I grew up in the church as my parents are faithful members, but it was important for me to know for myself if this was the right thing for me. I had to gain my own testimony and by reading and studying the scriptures, and I got my answer. I am a Mormon because living the standards of the gospel make me a better person. Being a Mormon is a rewarding experience, I am so happy!

How I live my faith

I go to church every Sunday at 9:30am with my husband. We serve in our stake as the Indexing Directors. This calling centers around Family Search Indexing. Indexing is taking scanned copies of marriage records, census's and so forth and transcribing them so they can be available online on FamilySearch.org. This calling has to do a lot with genealogy and helping people find their ancestors. It is really exciting to find those in your family tree and going back as far as you can in history to find your relatives. I am also called as a visiting teacher where I have 2 ladies that I am assigned to watch over and care for. I have a companion, and we are both responsible for making sure that these ladies are not being left alone. It is a great calling where I can meet my neighbors and get to know more people who live around me.

Who is the Mormon prophet today?

The prophet and President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is Thomas S. Monson. We believe him to be called of God and he has the authority to receive revelation for the Church as a whole. Show more Show less

What is the Word of Wisdom that Mormons talk about?

The Word of Wisdom is like a law of health that God gave to Joseph Smith in 1833. It is recorded in Doctrine and Covenants section 89 in the Pearl of Great Price. In this revelation, God emphasized the benefits of proper eating habits and also our spiritual health. Specifically, God has spoken against the use of tobacco, alcohol, coffee and tea, and illegal drugs. To those who abide by the Word of Wisdom, God has promised great physical and spiritual blessings such as "health in the navel, and marrow in the bones, run and not be weary, walk and not faint." Today, the scientific community promotes some of the same principles that a loving God gave to Joseph Smith nearly two centuries ago. Show more Show less
