Hi I'm Britney

I'm a wife, daughter, and sister. I'm involved in politics. I want to go to law school. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a Missourian at heart. I graduated in Political Science. I'm a sister to two, an aunt of two and a wife. I'm planning on starting law school next year. Meanwhile, I'm working as a receptionist at a law firm, active in local politics, and doing my best in the service of this church.

Why I am a Mormon

I have grown up a member, baptized at age eight. However, the reason I have continued to be a member is that the puzzle pieces of life come together beautifully with the knowledge of the plan that our Heavenly Father has for us. Everything has a reason, a purpose. Through my own conversion, I have had peace with what is my past and have hope for the future; I know that Heavenly Father will guide us and direct us in our lives if we ask. He will help us because of His love for us and because He has the big picture of what will most benefit and help us in our life. I am a Mormon because I believe in modern revelation and that the heavens are not closed to us. I believe God speaks to our prophet today and that the prophet has twelve apostles that lead and guide the church with him. With this modern revelation, I believe the Book of Mormon, Doctrine of Covenants, and Pearl of Great Price to be just as valuable of scripture as the Bible. I am a Mormon because I have come to know who I am as a woman and a daughter of Heavenly Father. I have a divine purpose to fulfill, and am of infinite worth to my God.

How I live my faith

I serve the women in a young married student ward, which provides me with many opportunities to serve as families move and/or start to add children to their little families. I live my faith through the hard work I put into all of my endeavors -work or church related-and my integrity. Through being politically active, I try to stay as updated on current events as possible and try to uphold righteous values/principles/ideals for those around me. I live my faith by trying to never be idle through striving to uplift those around me, engaging my mind in learning something new, and working to complete the seemingly never-ending duties that need to be done around the house. Honoring the institution of marriage and family is important to me as it is the most crucial unit to the world's society and to Heavenly Father's.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Through real prayer and a desire to know if the church as a whole, or even a certain aspect/principle, is true the Holy Spirit can testify to your heart and mind. The Holy Spirit is the barer of all truth. One of the most beautiful things about the church is that its ideas and principles of this church are so interconnected that once a testimony is kindled on one aspect then others can be naturally included. It takes constant awareness and action regarding our 'spiritual nourishment' to keep building a testimony. For that reason, it's important to attend church and other church meetings regularly as well as reading the scriptures and church magazines. The more we immerse ourselves in these things, the more the Holy Spirit can touch our lives and teach us new things and make new connections that we have never made before. Show more Show less
