Hi I'm Kyle

I work in Virginia, am a recent college graduate, love to learn, and feel strongly about defending truth. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am a recent college graduate raising money for nonprofits as a direct-mail copywriter. I really enjoy what I'm doing and get to interact with a lot of great people. I come from a great family. My parents are an integral part of my life and are in a lot of ways the reason I'm the way I am today. In fact, if there's anything that can be said of me that's good, I attribute it to them.

Why I am a Mormon

Its hard to say in a few short words why I'm a Mormon. What I've come to learn over the years is that I have been blessed as I've lived the gospel of Jesus Christ. He taught us to love one another, to make sacrifices, and to persevere. Whenever I've gone through struggles that seemed like they were going to completely pull me down, Jesus Christ, my Savior, was there to help me make it through. The reason he was able to do this is because he went through the exact same kind of suffering I did. He knew my pain and how to help me. It was in those moments of despair that I realized more clearly who He truly was. Realizing that He was willing to suffer for even the smallest of things created a deeper sense of gratitude in me for him. He did these things because he loves me. That truth has been taught by prophets He calls today. I am truly grateful for what He did for me.

How I live my faith

A very important way I live my faith is going to the temple to worship. The temple is a holy place where members of the church perform life-saving ordinances for themselves first, and then for those who've died. My purpose is to try and perform these ordinances for my own ancestors and then for the ancestors of others. What's important to know about the temple though is this... you are connecting yourself and your ancestors to the Atonement of Jesus Christ... and that is what it's all about! You see, when you perform these life-saving ordinance for those who've died, you're doing something for someone who cannot do it for them self. Through that, you learn how Christ has done something for you which you cannot do for yourself - redeem yourself from your sins. Only He can - and has - done that. I think there's truly no better way to learn about Christ and be like him than emulating him through a form of worship he has approved of and revealed to his children through his prophets. Another way I live my faith is visiting people from my congregation in their homes and sharing a gospel message with them. My purpose is to encourage them to live the gospel of Jesus Christ. It becomes a great source of strength for them and for me. We get to become good friends and learn together how to rely on the Savior. I also find great strength in praying. I feel like God really is listening to me even though I'm just one of many of his children.
