Hi I'm Brooke

I grew up in California moved to Alaska then Wyoming and now im in Minnesota. I am a full time student and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Well my name is Brooke and I am going to school to hopefully work as a nurse someday. I love to play sports and do outdoorsy things. I love food. I like naps. I am constantly going to new places. I love silly games, board games, card games...any kind of games really. Some sports that I think are cool are volleyball, basketball, water polo, soccer, ultimate frizbee, swimming, running...etc so on and so forth...I love my family and my friends. I like to try new things most of the time and I LOVE to have fun! I love to laugh and smile. The church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is a HUGE part of my life and it is amazing! I love meeting new people. I love to learn and to help when I can.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up my family and I were Catholic. We would go to church some Sundays and then go on with our lives. I atteneded a Catholic school my 7th grade year and enjoyed my time there but I can't recall ever having the desire to learn more about that church. I knew the basics and I thought that was good enough. We didn't go to church very often. I had a good friend who asked me if I would like to go to church with her one Sunday and so I decided that I would go. I mean church is church right? So I went to church with my friend and we get there and she then decides to tell me that it is 3 hours long! I thought oh my! that is a long time to be at church! I went to church that one time and had no idea what religion it was for (later I found out it was LDS). I never knew that my friend was LDS. A year or so later we moved away from my friend and her mother thought it would be a good idea to send the missionaries to our door. I had no idea who these men were but I was young and so my mom let them in and we sat on the couch and they talked to us to what seemed like hours. I fell asleep on the couch while they were there. My mom invited them back and I thought these men were very fun and so I stayed awake for the rest fo their visits. After the first couple lessons with the Elders I knew the church was true. I was so young yet I knew in my heart that I was making the right decision in telling the missionaries that I wanted to be baptized. My whole family was baptized in 2005 and some of my family has lost their way but I have faith that they will make it back onto the right path eventually. Its been almost 7 years since I was baptized and I still to this day know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the true church on the earth today. I love this gospel with all my heart. I don't know where I'd be or what I'd be doing without this gospel. I have made AMAZING friends though this church and I know that I did the right thing by being baptized when I was 12.

How I live my faith

In the church I have had many fun asssignments. I was able to serve the young single adults, which I am a part of, by helping to plan fun events like dances and activites with them. I am able to teach in Sunday school and our other classes, which in turn helps me as well to learn more about the gospel. I love doing service with all my friends who come to activities. In the past we have done some pretty fun service projects around the community, we put in new posts for the fences at the Alaska Zoo once which was cool because we were able to look at all the animals while doing it. We just always have a fun time with whatever kind of project, game, activity, lesson,...etc. that we are doing. I love this church so much and I love doing whatever I can to help, serve, and teach others about it.
