Hi I'm Elisabeth.

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm 25 years old and unmarried. I graduated from BYU-Idaho with a Bachelor's degree in General Studies. Right now I'm just trying to figure out where I want to go from here.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in an LDS family and was baptized when I was 8. But I was abused by my older brother when I was a very young girl. I lived with the guilt of that for many years. I only felt peace when I prayed. I've dealt with the bad effects of that experience ever since it happened, but through the Love of my Savior I've grown closer to Him and have had an easier time forgiving my brother. I suffer from a mood disorder and depression. I struggled for a long time with trying to understand why God would give me this trial. But through fervent prayer and many, many tears, I've learned that He doesn't give us any trials that we can't handle without His help. His ultimate goal is for us to come back to His presence and for us to live in absolute joy with Him for eternity. My lifelong struggle with depression is a testament of His faith in my ability to overcome these challenges. My Father in Heaven and my Savior love me more than I can possibly imagine. If I didn't have this knowledge, I would not be alive today. When I was in my deepest, darkest despair, the only thing that got me through was the love of my family and through that love, which I could barely feel through the darkness, I felt the love of my Savior. I know that He suffered for my sins, my afflictions, and my sorrows. He loves me. I know that all people can feel that love.

How I live my faith

I am happily attending my Young Single Adult ward in Park City, Utah. The meetings on Sunday truly let me rest from my labors. I also attend the temple. I try to go every week, and when I can, I go more often. I love the temple. In the temple I leave my worldly cares behind and can joyfully serve the Lord and feel the ultimate peace. I try to share my love of the gospel with those around me.

What do Mormons believe about Jesus Christ? Do Mormons believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God?

Elisabeth.
Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He came to earth to experience many things. He was a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief while on the earth. He suffered beyond all so He could overcome death and sin and with Him partake of eternal life and happiness. Through coming to Him, we accept His divinity and will feel His love for us.
