Hi I'm Eric

I was that kid that took apart the VCR to see how it worked. 10 yrs later... kookookachu, I'm a mechanical engineer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I find the world to be such an exciting place. Nature, people, businesses, buildings... you name it! I am studying Mechanical Engineering and will graduate in April. I love going longboarding, hiking, and doing anything that involves water.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into family with parents who were members of the church and grew up learning the basic principles of the gospel. When I was 14, I began to realize that if I were to continue living the things I had been taught, I needed to find out for myself if it was all true. My first time truly praying about the Book of Mormon was up in the mountains by myself where I could be alone with my thoughts. All that came to me was a thought, "You have not read it enough". Over the course of that following year, I made a consistent effort to read and study the Book of Mormon. When I finished it, I prayed again to ask if it were true, and I received my answer. The feelings I had let me know that this church was God's only true and living church. Any and all experiences that I have had since then have only reaffirmed my first answer.

How I live my faith

I desire to be an example of Jesus Christ in my life, to be an influence for good in the lives of others. To help me live the gospel in this way, I make an effort to read from the scriptures everyday. As part of being a member of the church, I also have a calling, or responsibility. The ward I attend consists of single young adults who are also attending school away from home. Since we are not near our families, we get together in family groups once a week and share a gospel lesson and play games together. I help to put those groups together and to make sure that everyone feels included in the lessons and activities. It helps us all to grow spiritually together and to have the support that we miss from being away from our families. I am grateful for that opportunity to help others in this way.
