Hi I'm Hailey Maire

I want to be a High School Counselor one day, I love being in the outdoors, I was a missionary in DC and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I received a B.S. in Sociology from BYU Idaho and once I'm back from my mission I would like to go on to earning a Masters in School Psychology or Social Work, not sure yet. I would love to be a school counselor and work with teenagers! I finished serving a mission for The Church in Washington DC and now I'm getting my Masters in Social Work! One of the hobbies I Learned to love doing while on my mission is to read. Before I started serving I really enjoyed reading the classics, and in college I got into reading books about the sociology and demographics of people. Now I love reading books centered on Christ as well as the scriptures! I love working out and being healthy! I try to keep my body in good condition so I can continue to do the activities I love, and to have the energy I need. The thing that makes me happiest is being able to hang out with friends and going out and doing new things and seeing new places. My dream is to be a stay at home mother and have a big family. I know, weird for a Mormon to want, haha, but I have loved being able to be the oldest of more than the average 3 kids (6) and seeing how our family works, and sometimes doesn't work, together. In the end, we all love each other and try our best to do what is right. At the moment I am in school getting my Masters in Social Work. I loved to be able to help others while I served my mission, and I love being able to help people better their lives. I work within the therapy communities and I love it!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Church. As a teenager sometimes I questioned if what I was doing was because I believed in it, or if it was because I had grown up around it. I was able to go off to college and really see how the Church and the Gospel of Jesus Christ really benefited my life. It allowed the good things to enrich my life, as well as helping me avoid difficult situations. I realized that Christ was never asking for much, He was just asking us to live our best selves and try again every time we falter. I have personally felt how the Atonement of Jesus Christ can work in each of our lives. It is an every day thing. We do not just depend on it for the really hard times. The Atonement is also there for the great times as well! It's because He gave His life for us, and took upon Himself our sins that we can feel the greatest happiness known to man, but also appreciate how low we can feel and how we need to depend upon that Atonement to lift us up. I have felt that amazing happiness knowing that I can once again return to square one and begin things again. I also know the happiness that comes from knowing that I can return to live with my Father in Heaven, and that I can be with my family through all eternity. Once you know that, I couldn't imagine any other way to live life! Like everyone else, I've done things before that weren't what the Savior would have me do, and those times were tough to get by. However, the peace and happiness of the gospel always pulled me back, and especially while on my mission it's been an amazing time to reflect and center myself on what things I can do even after the mission to be more like my older brother Jesus Christ. Ive noticed, and those who know me and are around me notice that when I am centered in the gospel I am a better, happier, kinder person to be around.

How I live my faith

I stand for the gospel. When people ask me about my faith I have no problem sharing my beliefs with them. I try to make sure that all I do is a good representation of the Church. I try to be kind to everyone I know. I don't take part in activities that are contrary to my standards. Instead of telling people they are just wrong, I try to explain my viewpoint. I participate in my church's congregational functions. We have activities, play games, have parties and just try to have fun that avoids anything that isn't uplifting and wholesome.

What is the priesthood?

Hailey Maire
The priesthood is the AMAZING power that is on the Earth to act in God, our Heavenly Father's, name. It is by the power of the priesthood that we can be organized in the Church. It is also by the power of the priesthood that we can perform the ordinances that are essential for us to return to our Heavenly Father. our Priesthood holders can baptize, confirm the gift of the Holy Ghost, Bless those who are sick, and so many other acts of service! The power of the Priesthood is never something for personal gain. It can only be used to help those around the Priesthood holder. For example, one can not give a blessing to themselves, or baptize themselves. Worthy men are able to receive the priesthood. It is like in the Bible, where different tribes and lineages were able to have the Priesthood. The priesthood is only available to men who are faithful members of the Church and have been found worthy to hold this amazing gift. They are to follow in the example of Jesus Christ and help those around them. Show more Show less
