Hi I'm Charlie

I enjoy working with my hands and building things, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I met and married my sweetheart in college and have been happily married for 43 years. We have 6 children and 6 grandchildren. Our youngest is in college and will be graduating soon. I've worked in the banking business for 18 years and recently retired after 24 years of working in the Church's Welfare Program as a manager for LDS Employment Services and Managing the Idaho Falls Cannery for the Church and serving as a Field Manager overseeing Bishop Storehouses and Home Storage Centers that are managed and run by Church Service Missionaries. I was raised on a farm and have been around and familiar with cattle and horses for most of my life. I know what it is to work hard and see a job through to completion. I enjoy working with my hand and dabble with oil painting. I like to ride motorcycles and currently ride a Honda Gold Wing. I especially like the good gas mileage. I get a kick out of making things out of wood and or steel. It's fun to let the creative juices flow. I get a certain amount of personal satisfaction in making and creating things. I've constructed most of our home twice as we have moved around. I have done everything but digging the foundation and concrete work and installing the furnace. But everything else we did our selves. I've discovered that you can do almost anything if you put your mind and will to it.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the Mormon Church, but even though there was a time I had to find out for myself if it was really true. You really can't live on borrowed light. I have come to know that Jesus Christ is in fact our Savior and Redeemer and He and our Heavenly Father knows each one of us individually and personally. They know and are aware of the challenges we face, our strengths and our weaknesses. I am grateful for this knowledge and understanding of who I am, why I am here and where we are trying to go. Through the blessing of having fullness of the gospel in our life and the blessing of a Temple marriage, I am so grateful for the blessing of knowing our family is sealed together for time and all eternity. The Gospel of Jesus Christ helps me understand and give me answers as to where I came from, why am I here and where we are trying to go. The gospel gives me answers to these questions and gives me purpose and direction to my life.

How I live my faith

I enjoy being involved in the Church. It gives me the opportunity to develop meaningful relationships with others who cherish and value the same things I do. The knowledge that families can be sealed together for time and all eternity gives me a great deal of comfort, hope and peace. I strive to live my faith simply and completely. It is a way of life that brings me a great deal of joy and fulfillment. I have spent a lot of time with the youth over the years and have held many positions in the scouting program. This is a result of having 5 sons. Living the gospel helps we have peace, purpose and direction in my life. I have often thought how empty and meaningless my life would be without the gospel. Living the gospel gives me a great deal of joy and happiness.
