Hi I'm Kristan

I'm studying chemical engineering. I love being outdoors. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have a joint bachelor's/master's degree in biological engineering and am currently pursuing a PhD in chemical engineering, so I spend a lot of time doing research. I love doing humanitarian work - especially when I get to use my knowledge as an engineer to help people. I love to travel and hope to visit every continent during my lifetime. I like being active - hiking, camping, playing sports, and just having a good time. I also really love music, reading, cooking, and attempting to sew. I try to live life to the fullest and try new things whenever possible.

Why I am a Mormon

I know that God loves me. I know that He has a plan for me and wants me to succeed. He sent his son, Jesus Christ, to earth to be my Savior so that I can overcome all of my sins, weaknesses, and short-comings. The Atonement covers not only my sins, but also all of life's disappointments and pains, large and small. When I pray I can feel God's love for me and find a peace and joy that can only come from the truth of the gospel. I've noticed that reading the Book of Mormon and studying other scriptures truly make my life a little easier to deal with, no matter what. I love my family and know that I can be with them forever because of the gospel and the ordinances of the temple.

How I live my faith

I attend a small branch where I serve the women of our congregation by organizing extra meetings and activities that help them get to know each other and come closer to the Savior. I also visit monthly with women who don't attend very often or find it difficult to come to church for various reasons. I make sure they have the things that they need and know how much we love and miss them.
