Hi I'm Amy

I am a daughter, sister, friend, wife and mother. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I like to bake chocolate chip cookies. I like to read books of all shapes and sizes. I am married with two small children. I have a degree in elementary education. I enjoy going on walks with my family. I enjoy working in my yard and garden.

Why I am a Mormon

I chose to get baptized when I was eight years old. I have always believed in Jesus Christ, and have felt the saving power of his Atonement in my life. I have a deep appreciation for my parents who raised me with an understanding of God's love for me.

How I live my faith

I work with the young women in our church. We have activities during the week, where we play games, do crafts, learn new skills and work to develop their own individual talents. I love these teenage women that I have gotten to know.

What do Mormons believe is the purpose of life?

Amy
I believe that Heavenly Father has a plan for all of his children, and that we can find joy and happiness when we understand His love for us in designing this plan. There are some aspects of God's plan that are universal for all of us. We all gained a physical body, one that allows us to make choices - through which we come to learn and understand accountability and consequences. We have the opportunity to choose between good and evil. Through these choices that we make we have experiences that can help us become more like Heavenly Father. We also have the opportunity in this life to form family relationships that can last for all eternity. With this understanding of our purpose we can find peace, joy, and happiness in this life. Why are Mormons asked to donate 10% of their income to their Church?

Amy
I pay tithing because I believe in the words of the ancient prophets, those of Malachi when he gave the commandment to give a tithe. I pay tithing because I know that all that I have the Lord has given me, and I pay to show my gratitude for those blessings. I pay tithing because it reminds me of what I have been given, and the responsibility that I have to help where I can. Show more Show less

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Amy
We worship God, our Eternal Father, and his son the Lord Jesus Christ. We have a deep respect for Joseph Smith, as well as for the modern day prophet who leads us today, Thomas S. Monson. Show more Show less
