Hi I'm Kelli

I'm a daughter. I'm a sister. I'm a friend. I'm a student. I'm a missionary. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I love people! There are not many things I enjoy more than meeting new people and spending time talking with them. Everyone has a story to learn from and it is inspiring to listen to those stories and be inspired by them. Family time is my favorite time. :) I could go on forever about that. I love my family so much and am so thankful to know that families can be together forever. I love music! The Lord speaks to His children all kinds of different ways, but He speaks to me most through music. I've played the piano for most of my life and love it more and more every day, mostly for the Spirit I feel when I play. I love to sing and dance and be silly. Fun and humor make life happier :) I also love exercise and nutrition! I am three years into the Exercise and Wellness major at BYU and love it. I'm taking a break from school for the next 18 months to serve a mission which brings me to...I LOVE the gospel. I love my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and I'm so thankful for the knowledge I have that if I live the way I know they'd like me to, I can return to live with them again someday. There are all kinds of things that I know I've left out, but suffice it to say...mostly I just love life. :)

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that the church is true. I know that Jesus Christ died for me personally. I know that anytime i am having a hard time, He knows what it feels like. He wants me to return to live with my Father in Heaven. I know that God loves me. He shows me that He does ever day through the trees, the mountains, the sunsets, the smiles I get throughout the day, the stop light that turns green as soon as I pull up, the good hair day when I wanted it the most, etc. Through all of those seemingly little things, God shows me His love for me. I know that Joseph Smith is a prophet of God. His story may sound crazy, but I know that it's true. Not just because people have told me it is my whole life, but because i have prayed about it and it makes me so happy. Even if it wasn't true (but it is:), I would still be a Mormon because of the happiness that I feel when I follow the doctrines of this church, which are indeed the doctrines of Christ. I love this gospel with all my heart and I am so thankful for all that the Lord does in my life.

How I live my faith

Sometimes people say that there are too many nit-picky details to pay attention to in order to live the gospel. I think that's one of the things that I love most about the gospel! Instead of having to figure out how to be like Christ on our own, we get all kinds of help for how we can do it. It gives me a lot of comfort to know that by living the commandments, I can be more like Christ. I've seen proof of that. While I'm far from perfect, as I try to be obedient to the Lord's commandments and be true to the covenants I've made, I feel the Spirit of the Lord in my life, guiding me, comforting me, and making me smile. I feel the Lord's presence and things that would normally be challenging don't seem quite so tricky. It's also helped me to keep Jesus Christ as the center of my life. When I do that, the 'nit-picky details' become less of an overwhelming to-do list and more of a way of life. I love the gospel of Jesus Christ. I feel peace when I keep Him at the center of my life.
