Hi I'm Holly

I grew up in foster care. I love to cook. I have two little boys. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was raised in foster care from the age of 2 on and off. I was exposed to a lot of different religions and family structures from that. I found the Gospel at age 18 thru a friend in high school. I attended BYU for college and graduated with a degree in Chinese and a double major of Asian Studies. My husband and I first met there, but met again three years later. Got married and now have two little boys. He is pursuing his bachelor's in mathematics now and plans to get a Ph.D.

Why I am a Mormon

I read the history of Joseph Smith in the Pearl of Great Price, and I knew it was true. The more my friend told me the strong the Holy Ghost whispered to me of the truthfulness of the Gospel. My hangup was that there could possibly be a loving Heavenly Father. I used logic to reason that if Joseph Smith was a prophet and I know that to be true, which I did, than Heavenly Father exists too and everything else is true as well. I was baptized. However, thru prayer and time I was able to gain a testimony of Heavenly Father and see his hand in my life. I know now that my family is watched over very carefully and we are provided for because of Heavenly Father's love for us. Everything always works out for us and we have always been taken care of and blessed with enough to not just meet our needs, but our wants too.

How I live my faith

I plan activities for the young girls in our ward who are 10 or 11. We do about two activities a month. Some of the time, we cook. Some of the time, we play. Some of the time, we try to develop new skills. But mostly we just try to make sure the girls have friends and good influences in their lives. I also visit two other woman in the ward each month. I bring a Gospel thought and try to make sure that they are doing alright. I am a caring friend to them.
