Hi I'm Duncan

I'm an athlete, antique car owner, and culinary extrordinaire. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love staying active and enjoy all sports, especially running, rugby, and basketball. I'm the happiest when I'm outdoors skiing, fishing, or hiking. This world is an inspired design and I appreciate the natural beauty of it every day. I own a 1972 Alfa Romeo that was passed down from my grandfather to me. I love working on it and figuring out how things work. I work at a restaurant where I enjoy meeting new and interesting people. I love to cook and watch the Food Network whenever I get a chance. I have dreams of opening a restaurant someday where I can share my passion for food and cuisine with everyone. I want to travel, country to country, sampling and tasting the multifarious flavors across the world. I've been doing origami since first grade. I've never considered myself to be artistic, but it's an artistic expression that allows me to turn an ordinarily boring square sheet paper into a multi dimensional work of art.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because being a member of the Latter-day Saint faith fills me with joy. Without it, I would have an empty void in my life that could not be filled, unless I had the knowledge of the restored gospel. Every day, I see people try to fill this void with no avail. Knowing that my family and I can live together forever gives me a sense of completeness, peace, and joy. However, I find more joy in seeing families earnestly search for the truth, accept the gospel, and reap the blessings that Heavenly Father has promised each and every one of His children. I'm happy, I'm confident, and I'm proud to call myself a saint in God's kingdom. These strong and powerful convictions can come from no other positive source other than Christ's true church.

How I live my faith

Currently, I have devoted two years of my life to serve God's children in the Anaheim California mission. Being a missionary has been an astounding and eye-opening experience. I cannot think of any better way to show my faith in Christ by putting my personal life on hold and placing my trust and energy entirely in God's hands. When I was attending college, I had the privilege to be in a position where I was able to plan activities, assign and teach lessons, and serve my fellow students everyday. Service is an integral and important part of my life and I love being able to serve through my faith.
