Hi I'm Shaela Jensen

I love music and laughter, dry humor is my favorite, I'm fascinated by human behavior. I'm a missionary. I'm a mormon

About Me

I grew up in a super active LDS home in a small town in Utah. I learned to love the gospel from my parents who decided that Music, Scriptures and Prayer were the best way to teach me about my Savior. I have gone through my own set of trials and hardships that have made me stronger in my faith in Jesus Christ and my desire to help others along this path of life. I don't claim to be perfect, or even close to it, but I do strive to become like my Savior each day. I have an intense love of the scriptures. I found this love while serving a full time mission for the church in the South Dakota Rapid City Mission. I had a man challenge me my first 6 weeks out to "learn my Bible" so I am. I believe that God is the ultimate teacher, parent and friend and that he know me on a very personal level. It's because I know who I am to him, that I know my place in this life, and my role in helping others discover the same happiness that comes from this knowledge.

Why I am a Mormon

Because I have come to know that the Prophet Joseph Smith was truly a prophet of God, and that the Priesthood power of God has once again been restored to the Earth. I am a member of this church because of the way it makes me feel, act and reach for more than what I can see in front of me. I know that my Savior lives and that He loves me, and I feel that as I live the gospel standards. I haven't always been as dedicated to the gospel as I am now. There was a few years when I moved out to College that I just didn't get it. I didn't do what was right all the time, and I made a lot of big mistakes. But because the Savior died for me, I got clean and started over again. It's because of the miracle of the Atonement of Christ that I am the person I am today.

How I live my faith

I spend a lot of time durring the day talking to God in my head. It's because I have this constant, open dialogue with Him, that I know that He knows my every thought because I invite him to listen. This helps me to express to Him exactly what I am feeling, while I am experiencing it. I have found that this helps me to also be aware of His spirit telling me how to handle situations better than I could on my own. Currently, I'm a full time missionary, and spend all day long going around trying to promote the Restored Gospel. But even in that relm I feel like I have to try each day to be more like Christ. I find that it's when it's hardest to be like Christ, those are the times when you actually develop those attributes, not when it's easy be be patient, or charitable or faithful.

What do Mormons believe about family?

Shaela Jensen
The family is central to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We believe that families can live together forever in the presence of God if we live righteously. Everything we do in the church is to help families come closer to our Lord and Savior. Show more Show less
