Hi I'm Julia

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a mom- the best thing I've ever done. Altough my children are mostly grown, we are a close family and see each other a couple times a week. I have a full time job which keeps me busy. But there is always so much to be done. My husband and I plant a large garden each year. From it we have fresh veggies in the summer and enjoy the produce into the winter from our canning efforts, some of which have less than edible results! My favorite activity is family research and I spend several hours a week on it. I learn more about myself as I learn about my ancestors.

Why I am a Mormon

My mother was a member of the church when I was born and my father joined the LDS church when I was young. My parents raised their children in this faith and I have continued in it because of my own wishes. I used to ask my father why he had been baptized and his answer was always that the gospel made sense to him. It does for me also. I can't imagine life without the guidance of the scriptures, church leaders and the Lord. Some people may think that the church puts too many restrictions on it's members. I feel that I have more freedoms than many people enjoy. I am free to not worry about breaking DUI laws, smoking health hazards, or caffeine requirements to keep me going when I'm tired. I am free to take one day a week and forget about the stress of daily life and concentrate on peace and spiritual fulfillment.

How I live my faith

My faith is so much a part of who I am and how I think. My daily actions- from my home life to my work ethic- are based upon what I think the Lord and my Savior would have me do. Using Jesus Christ as my example, I try to base my actions upon the phrase "What would Jesus do". I am a child of God and have great potential. With his help, all things are possible.
