Hi I'm Brad

I'm a rock climber, skydiver, whitewater kayaker, who is currently bike touring across Canada with his wife. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I sleep outside more often than inside. I have worked with troubled youth, guiding backpacking trips, rock climbing, canyoneering, mountain biking, and skiing trips. I also have been an electrician, and a whitewater river guide in Wyoming. On my off days I can be found kayaking, skydiving, biking, snowboarding, or anything that ends with ing. I married my best friend, adventure partner, and love of my life over a year ago. We are currently unemployed and homeless as we spend the summer bike touring across Canada.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church but never fully took it in for myself, and didn't follow its teaching for some time. In the summer of 2008 I finally wanted to know and i wanted to know for me. I started reading the Book of Mormon, begining with the Joseph Smith history and began praying for an answer. I went for quite awhile with out receiving the big miraculous answer I wanted. I was really looking for God to have a lighting bolt strike the tree next to me and burn the answer in a way that I couldn't deny or ignore. It didn't make sense to me to leave any doubt. But then one day while I was struggling with this I was told by two different people to check out Alma 32. I was thrown off guard by the strange "coincidence" and knew I should check it out. That night I drove up a canyon (where I was living out of my car) and prayed, then read that chapter. It explained why we don't have big miraculous answers like that and what faith really is, which made so much comforting sense to me. I then read on about the experiment it asks you to take and as i read those verses I could feel everything it was saying like I was living the verse. I felt the warm swelling in my bosom and I felt loads of Love. I knew then there was truth in the book. It was an awesome experience one I will never forget. It wasnt the enormous surefire answer I wanted but i felt comforted and it all made logical sense as well. It is the foundation of my testimony, I feel the happiness now that comes from living worthy and following the gospel. I am still continuing to build my testimony and hope to the rest of my life, by studing the scriptures and praying to my Father in Heaven. I feel inside that the Church is true, every step I take closer to it confirms that to me.

How I live my faith

I now live by example. I try to practice what I believe in every aspect of my life. I make it a priority to read my scriptures everyday and take my time doing so to make sure I can understand them. I try to live my life like Christ, and love the people around me. I try to share what I know and the happiness it has brought me.
