Hi I'm Marsha

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a Mom of 3 and a Grandmother of 8. I spent years working outside the home but now enjoy working full-time in my home. My children did experience daycare, and they grew up to be wonderful adults and I enjoy a warm and satisfying relationship with each of them. And oh those Grandchildren! How I adore each of them!!! I love our times together...although noisy, it's also blissful! I enjoy working in my garden, reading a good book, attending the temple and date nights! I also love morning walks. I'm not especially crafty, or a seamstress, don't play a musical instrument or have any other huge, obvious talents. But I do love to serve, and have found my happiest times when I've been lost in the needs of another.

Why I am a Mormon

I love being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints! I am a convert of almost 40 years. I joined the church when I was 13. Thank Heavens for a good Bishop and his family next door who befriended me and showed me what it was to have an eternal family. I later married my sweetheart who was a recent convert and we have enjoyed 33 years together. Life hasn't been a "bed of roses" but it has been all that I needed. I realize that the peaceful times are wonderful...but real growth takes place when I'm stretched beyond what I thought my capacity was. Being a Latter-Day-Saint has provided me that eternal perspective that allows me to have joy even in the midst of trials.  Being a member of this wonderful Church is really about my relationship with Savior and becoming more like Him. I do this day by day, year by year. By small and simple things each day, I feel His love around me and in turn, am able to love more like He loves. It is a slow process but a beautiful one. Each day I thank Him for his Gospel, and for the opportunity I've had to live on the Earth at this specific time. My Father in Heaven knows me and wants me to be happy. And like any wise parent, has allowed me to make mistakes and learn from them. Life isn't easy, but it can be wonderful through the Atonement of Jesus Christ, and through His teachings.

How I live my faith

I love serving in the church! It is through these wonderful opportunities that I have made some of the sweetest relationships in my life. Currently I teach the adults in Sunday School. It is great to start and participate in discussions that enhance my understanding of the Savior. We are studying the New Testament this year and it's like I've never heard some of these teachings before! Exciting! I'm also able to visit with 4 ladies in my ward. Each month I see them, learn about their needs and abilities, and we share a special relationship as we allow each other into our hearts and lives. I also serve with my husband each week in the temple. We spend 4 hours in the House of the Lord and each time I walk away with a feeling of closeness to the Spirit and wonder how different my life would be without that light.
