Hi I'm Chris Johnson

I'm just a small town kind of guy with a big desire to learn and serve others. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I just received a bachelor's degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. I am now attending pharmacy school and working towards my Pharm.D. I love to play golf, baseball, basketball, and football as well as watch any of those sports. I am happily married to the girl of my dreams since August of 2008. Together, we love watching movies, going on hikes and camping trips, and being outdoors together. We are looking forward to the day that we can welcome children into our lives and expand our family.

Why I am a Mormon

As a teenager, I attended what we call seminary. Seminary is an hour long class each day of the week during the school year. Where I am from, the school allows us to attend during one of our free periods when we aren't working on a class that is required to graduate. In most other places however, these high school students will actually get up early enough to be to seminary before school starts so that they can learn about the scriptures. Every year we focused on a different book of scripture. We started with the New Testament when I was 14. When we got to the Book of Mormon the next year, I was excited. I knew of the stories of the Book of Mormon but I had never read them for myself. My first teacher encouraged us to begin reading and praying to know if the Book of Mormon was true. I will never forget a senior in that class. Jessica was a respected person in the school and was so nice. She was asked to share what it was like when she prayed to know that the book was true. I will never forget the impact that had on my life. After class that day, all I wanted to do was try it out for myself. I started that evening reading the Book of Mormon every night. After reading each night, I knelt by my bedside and prayed to God to know if it was true. I did this for over two weeks before I received the confirmation that it was true. The feeling was amazing and almost indescribable. The best words I have to describe the experience was that it was like my Heavenly Father himself was giving me a hug and really nice back rub. It almost felt like electricity was tingling up and down my back, but not hurting. I knew it was an answer to my prayers. I knew that the Book of Mormon was true and that Joseph Smith is a true prophet of God. Since that day, I have never doubted my faith and my beliefs. I have given of my time and energy to help other people know of the truth behind our message. I have helped others to come to know for themselves. I know that this is God's church on earth.

How I live my faith

Today I am an active member of my religious group locally. I like to participate in discussions about the gospel and how I apply it in my life daily. At work, there are people that may swear and tell crude stories at times, but when I get the chance, I like to talk about Jesus Christ and experiences that I have had that have brought me closer to Him. Just talking about Jesus Christ in my every day conversations with others helps me to feel the peace that he has to offer. Jesus Christ is the way. He leads me in my decisions and helps protect me from the evils in the world. My wife and I recently joined NetFlix and we were surprised to find how many rated R shows are out there. We have made a promise to never watch those films that would bring us down. There are so many other good and wholesome forms of entertainment out there and we choose those forms over the R rated shows.

Can husband and wife be together forever? Do you believe that families will live together in heaven?

Chris Johnson
We believe that a man and a women can be married forever. Family ties are not just limited to this life. We believe that "til death do us part" is not how it has to be. By being married in a temple of God, husband and wife can be sealed together, that is married together for eternity. When they have children, those children will also be sealed to them forever. This makes death only a short separation in time because we know that we will be with each other after this mortal life. Show more Show less
