Hi I'm Dakota T. Anderson

I love Sports especially football and tennis, all types of music and especially my family and friends, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love Sports so much, they've been a main part of my life for as long as i can remmber, without them i dont think i would be as strong as a person as i am both physically and mentally, you really build a great toughness in sports and im so blessed to have had the opportunities to be a part of them. I love my family and my friends, i have no idea what i'd do without them. Especially my mom and dad and my closest friends, they have all been great examples in my life and i am truely blessed to have them.

Why I am a Mormon

Why I'm a Mormon, I was and am raised in the church. I have always grown up around it. The Church for a long time didn't mean that much to me. I grew up in the church and honestly, dreaded every week of going. But then I went and served a mission for the Church and my testimony grew a-thousand fold. With the Church of Jesus Christ restored to the earth, I know without a shadow of a doubt, that i can be with my family for time and all eternity. The Church is important to me because i know without it I'd probably be a pretty messed up kid. A lot of people think that "oh your a mormon, you can't do anything fun!" thats totally not true, we can do everything that everyone else can, usually when people say we cant do "fun" things, they are usually talking about drinking and smoking and things of that nature, sometimes i just want to tell them, "no i can do all the fun things you can, it's just i choose not to do the stupid things a lot of other people do" The commandments we have are honestly the same as everyone else's church, yes they might be a little more strict, and people think they hold us back. But honestly, they keep us safe and set us free. We don't have to worry about a lot of the things that everyone else does.

How I live my faith

Well going back to the beggining i was in primary growing up, i have served in many priesthood callings such as president of the deacons and teachers quroum, I have been the 1st assistant to the bishop, I have held really only one other calling and that was teaching primary, going to church every sunday to some can seem like such a heavy task, but three hours a week for Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ are nothing compared to what they have done for us. Sure I have done service projects for others and those are just more opportunities to serve our Heavenly Father, "When ye are in the service of your fellow beings, ye are in the service of your god." I think the real way to live my faith is by being a good example to those around me. I'll be placed in situations at college, especially on the football team where I am going to have to make the choice of going to this party, or to drink or smoke or do all these things. It comes down to what is really going to bring me true happiness, the buzz coming from dinking that only lasts a moment, or holding strong to my faith that I know can bring me happiness for Eternity. The Choice is there, but i believe it to be an easy one.
