Hi I'm Judith

I grew up in Scotland, attended university in the US and have the travelbug. I am a Mormon!

About Me

I am a stay at home mum and university graduate with a degree in Geography from . I am passionate about travel and other cultures and just love to explore new places, especially small villages in different countries. I love geology and I find people and culture fascinating and love to learn about other places, people, faiths and experiences. One day I hope to pass on this passion by teaching geography at high school, but this ambition is on hold while I raise my family, which is my strongest passion of all. I am a stay at home mum currently and just love my job. As much energy as they require and however tiring they can be, there is no happiness so deep as learning from children and watching them learn and grow. I love to cook, bake and decorate cakes, although I hate cleaning the kitchen afterwards. I love to read, sew, learn, read and basically live life to the fullest I can. I love life, and I am a Mormon!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I developed a testimony of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in my teenage years. I had always had a curiosity for religion and spent time at researching many different churches and faiths. While I enjoyed each one in different ways, I had never felt that one in particular answered fully the questions that I had of life, life after death and life in general. When I learned that one of my high school friends went to a different church I started to ask her questions about her faith, not because I planned on joining a new church, simply because I was curious. After a few conversations with her I felt as though I agreed with all the answers she had given me and was desperate to know more! I met with the missionaries and soon knew that I had found that church that I had been inadvertently searching for, the one that answered all my questions and simply made sense to me. I was baptised a month later after receiving lessons from the missionaries in my area. I have continued to live the gospel each day since, as it has made me happier everyday than I ever was before. I know that God lives and is my Father in Heaven, I know that Jesus Christ is my Saviour, but not only mine, He is the Saviour of every living soul and He loves each of us more than we can comprehend. I know that Joseph Smith, even as such a young man, saw God the Father and Jesus Christ and restored Christ's church to the earth. I know that a Prophet continues to lead the Lords church on earth and that revelation continues today, not just in times past. I know that true happiness and peace can come to any person, anywhere, when living the Lords gospel and I know that the power of the Atonement is real. I know the Book of Mormon to be the word of God, and another testament of Jesus Christ. The gospel means everything to me, as it has provided me with peace, happiness and a way of life that brings me joy everyday.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith every day, and in every way, as it is who I am. I serve actively in my local ward and have worked with programs for young adults, teenagers and primary school age children. At home and in my community I always look for ways to serve other people, as that is the best way I find to live my faith. To me being a Christian means being more like Christ, and trying to find ways to bring His peace and joy to other people through love and service.
