Hi I'm Michael

I am an engineer and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have four energetic children who keep me running. I love to play sports and spend time outdoors with my family. I have a Master's degree in Engineering and design water treatment plants.

Why I am a Mormon

I know that God loves his children and provides opportunities for each of them to grow through trials and experiences. Though difficult at times, life's challenges can be overcome with God's help. With the help of a Savior, Jesus Christ, and the guidance of our Heavenly Father through the Holy Ghost, we have been given a road map that leads us to back to where our life started, with our Heavenly Father. As we go through life, we will likely encounter frequent detours and wrong turns; however, as we look to God, we will see his outstretched hand waiting for ours so that he can lead us in the right direction. This is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Though life can provide opportunities to do many things, It can often become too busy making it so one has to pick and choose how to spend their time. I believe it is important to find a balance in life that includes God, family, work, play and service. Too much focus on one thing usually means not enough focus on another. Finding and maintaining this balance is what I continually strive to do. I am still working on it.

Why don’t Mormons drink coffee, tea, or alcohol? What is the Mormon Church’s law of health and proper diet?

Self mastery allows one to govern his or herself without being dependant on something else. As I look around, I see many who are dependant on such things as tobacco, alcohol, coffee, tea, and various forms of drugs. This helps me to realize why God through His modern day prophets has asked us to abstain from such things. The addicting nature of these things can make anyone its slave thus, removing God's gift of freedom. God wants His children to be free. Our body was a gift to us, watching what we take into it is a way for us to say thanks for this wonderful gift. Show more Show less
