Hi I'm Matt

I'm a Mormon. I have been a member of the Church my entire life. I can't list all of my blessings, but it starts with my family.

About Me

I have 3 young children, ages 4, 6, and 9. I have a beautiful wife who loves me. I love to work hard and serve others. I also love toys and gadgets. One of my favorite time killers is to get a new toy or gadget and tinker with it. I work in the audio, video and web industry. I love my job and feel it is a great blessing. I get to innovate and brainstorm a lot. One of my least favorite things to do is kill time. Yet, if I don't have enough to to do, that's exactly what I do; waste time. TV is a great time killer. I like scientific shows, or those about how things are made. The best balance for my is using TV to unwind for the day, but not waste hours attached to it. If I am with family or friends, I'm happy. If I have a mission to accomplish, I'm happy. If I'm serving others, I'm super-happy, though it takes me a little while to convince myself to do something nice. If I have nothing to do, I'm bored, and I'll usually find something I just have to do before long.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I was born into the church. My parents, and local church leaders, did a lot to raise me well. I did my best to sabatoge that rearing. I continue to be an active, faithful. ever-repentant Mormon because I believe the teachings of the Church, in Jesus Christ, and Heavenly Father so strongly, I would be denying my own heart and mind if I were to do otherwise.

How I live my faith

I serve my neighbors by trying to be a good example of a Christain. I teach others about Jesus Christ, and I try to live and act in a way that others realize I am different. I am called to teach and serve a few families from our church. Some of them don't go to church. It is up to me to let them know Heavenly Father loves them, because he sent me to them. I strive to maintain the presence of one who knows Jesus Christ. When my natural side kicks in, as it often does, I do my best to pray for guidance and strength; that I may better deal with others, and have help in making decisions. I serve the young men in the church by continuosly planning, organizing and executing various activities, including scouting and priesthood duties. The young men in my church, while half my age or less, have great things to teach me and others. As Aaronic Priesthood holders themselves, they posses the power and authority from Heavenly Father to act in His name. They teach and preach and serve the members of the congregations. I do my best to provide for them an example of a faithful priesthood holder. In turn, they share with me and others the gospel through simple acts such as maintaining the church building or serving the weekly sacrament. I lead my family to make good decisions about how they spend their time, and how they treat others. As an imperfect person, it is not always teach. Though imperfect, and with the help of my wife, we teach our children to pray often and to love one another. We truly believe that our family is a success when we can say that our children have added a little more goodness to the world, rather than take away from it.
