Hi I'm Jamie

I'm a college student, a wife, a new mom, and a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife and a new mom. I am also a junior in college and I help teach special needs children. I enjoy painting, playing guitar, knitting, baking, and doing anything that is artistic and creative. I am also passionate about writing, reading, and learning about how I can self-improve and help others find happiness.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised a Christian, and I have always had an understanding and a desire to have a relationship with Jesus Christ. It wasn't until I was in my early 20s that I had an intense longing to discover what "the true Church" really was. I had attended many kinds of Churches and studied the doctrines, but none of it ever really seemed right. There was always something missing. I never expected that I would find what my soul was looking for when I read The Book of Mormon for the first time. The first time I read it and prayed to know if it was true, I gained a testimony that it was, and it was amazing! I, one of the most skeptical people in the world, suddenly felt something I never experienced before. I received many miraculous and personal confirmations that I was on the right track, and I experienced joy and peace that was undeniable. Everything seemed to fall into place. I even found out that my entire line of ancestors on my father's side of the family was Mormon! Little did I know, but I had a rich pioneer heritage! As time has gone on, I can see how Heavenly Father has guided me to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and has helped me gain a testimony. Not long after I became a member of the Church, my younger sister suddenly died from a fatal asthma attack. At the time, I was pregnant with my daughter. It was a very intense and difficult trial. During the time that my sister was in a coma before we had to take her off life support, I had to rely on the comfort of the Holy Ghost. I knew that Jesus Christ loved me, and that his love and comfort was right there. I now understand more than ever the importance of family, and I find great comfort in the Plan of Salvation. I know that families can be together forever, and that death is only a temporary separation from our loved ones. I am so thankful for my membership in Christ's true Church, and for the peace that the Holy Spirit brings me.

How I live my faith

I truly believe that happiness comes from helping others, and I strive to continually help those around me by cooking meals, offering rides, bringing groceries to someone, or paying them a visit. In my Church, I have taught Sunday School and served in other capacities that have shown me how fulfilling it is to help others. It is not necessary to have everything in your own life perfect; in fact, sometimes it is the perfect remedy to do something for someone else! In addition to serving in my Church, I also attend the Temple, read the Scriptures and attend Bible and religion classes, do family history work, and look for opportunities to share my testimony with those around me.

Can husband and wife be together forever? Do you believe that families will live together in heaven?

Jamie
Husbands and wives can be sealed together for time and all eternity through the atonement of Jesus Christ. There is a reason why Heavenly Father put us on Earth in family units. He wanted us to grow, learn, and be like Him! We are His children, and He wants us to see things through His eyes by giving us the opportunity to have our own children and families here on Earth. Families can be together forever. We don't have to say goodbye forever when someone close to us dies we can know with a certainty that we will be together again. Show more Show less
