Hi I'm Angela

I'm an accountant, a runner, an outdoor enthusiast, and a Mormon.

About Me

I love being outside doing just about anything. Summer is definitely my favorite season. I love running, cooking, singing, dancing, hiking, biking, and playing sports. I've never been the creative type, but when it comes to food, I love to try different things! I believe that having fun is a choice, so I try to have fun doing whatever it is that I am doing. Who doesn't want to be happy and have fun more often? Attitude is everything.

Why I am a Mormon

Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has made my life so much more meaningful. I try to be a better person every day and I love it! I am so much happier living my life the way I know I should. The things I have learned from reading the Book of Mormon have brought an enormous amount of peace to my life. It is so comforting to know that there is a God, to know that He loves me, and to know that there is a great Plan of Happiness. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. I am so grateful for that book and I'm grateful for the things I have learned from it. I know that my Savior, Jesus Christ, lives and loves me. He knows and understands my pains and sorrows. I can't explain how I know that, but He does. I have felt the love of my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ many, many times throughout my life.

How I live my faith

I try to be my best self as often as possible. Of course, I am not perfect, nor am I close to perfect. I simply try to be a good person in all aspects of my life. I still mess up, but I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior. I know that He can help me overcome my weaknesses. I like to surround myself with people that uplift me and make me want to be better. I have found that I am happiest when I work to improve myself and live righteously. I also have found that serving others brings a great amount of joy to my life. Being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has given me so many opportunities to serve others.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

No, all Mormons are not required to serve missions, but many members have chosen to do this. I recently decided to serve a mission and I am very excited! I want to share the Gospel because it is something that has brought so much joy, peace, and comfort into my life. As time has gone by, I feel that the world has become a much more scary place to live. Knowing and understanding the Lord's plan of happiness helps me fight my fears. I want to bring that same joy and comfort to others, which is part of the reason why I am chosing to serve a mission. Show more Show less

What blessings can you receive from reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures?

There are many verses of scripture that can apply to you in different ways each time you read them. As you continue to study the scriptures and apply the things taught to your own life, you will receive guidance for every aspect of your life. My testimony of this principle is so strong because I have seen this happen in my life over and over again. I've heard it said that we communicate with our Heavenly Father through prayer and He communicates with us through the scriptures. I know that He can communicate with us in many different ways, but I also know that there are many times that the answers to our prayers are found in the scriptures. Show more Show less
