Hi I'm Rachel

I am a nurse, an adventurer, a family gal and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love life and so far I have had an amazing one! I was raised in a beautiful place by amazing parents in a loving family and with some of the worlds best friends. I learned the value of hard work early on and was blessed with great opportunities and the blessing of education. I always knew I wanted to be in a "helping profession" and when I took my first anatomy and physiology class in High School I knew the medical field is where I belonged. I am now an RN and have most recently worked in the Hospice field, which has been an incredibly meaningful and rewarding experience. I love adventures of any kind. I enjoy all of Gods creations so I especially love traveling, running, swimming, hiking, mountain biking, listening to oldies music, eating, laughing and being with family and friends. I love meeting new friends and seeing new places. I have now been to 46 of the 50 great states of this blessed country; with plans to get to the last four very soon!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it is what brings me peace and happiness in this life and I know it is what will bring me that same peace and eternal joy throughout eternity. I have been blessed with a rich heritage and have many ancestors that were faithful, hard working Mormon Pioneers. I am grateful for their sacrifices and great examples of faith and courage. Although even this great history wouldn't be enough to make me a "Mormon" if I had not come to know that this is truly the Saviors church, once again established on the earth through a living prophet. I came to know these truths by exercising a "seed" of faith in the beginning. As I searched the scriptures, lived the commandments, heard the testimony of others and offered sincere prayers I felt the "seed" begin to grow or "swell" within me. The Book of Mormon prophet, Alma explains it like this, ". . .and when you feel these swelling motions, ye will begin to say within yourselves-It must needs be that this is a good seed, or that the word is good, for it beginneth to enlarge my soul; yea it beginneth to enlighten my understanding, yea, it beginning to be delicious to me. Now behold, would not this increase your faith?" Yes, indeed these things did increase my faith and I came to know by the power of the Holy Ghost that these things are true. I am a Mormon because all of life's great questions are answered in the teachings of the Restored Gospel and I LOVE IT! I know that our Heavenly Father wants our families to return to Him together and through the Priesthood that has been restored I know that this is possible; our families can be eternal!

How I live my faith

I am currently living my Faith by serving as a full time missionary. I spend each and every day studying, teaching and living the Gospel. This is a totally unique experience, for which I am so grateful! When else can we devote ALL of our time and attention to serving our Heavenly Father and His children. This mission has certainly laid a great foundation for the rest of my life where I will continue to live my faith by daily prayer and scripture study, serving others in and out of the church and basically just living an honest, pure and good life. Really just trying to be more like the Savior, in all that I think, do and say.
