Hi I'm Khate

I'm a Registered Nurse. I Swim . I Run. I Bike. I Blog. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a simple person with simple happiness. I am the youngest of four. I love my family. I am a Returned Missionary. I talked a lot, you will not be bored if you are with me. People have asked me why do I have a sunny disposition, it is because I know the truth. It is comforting to know that there is a person who is alive on earth that receives instruction from Jesus Christ.I love multi-tasking because I do not want to waste my time. Time is precious, time is gold.

Why I am a Mormon

I was a convert when I was 19, Junior year in my Nursing school. I was deeply touched with the Plan of Salvation because when the missionaries came to our homes, my father had just died. When they told me that I can be with my Papa again, I know that I need to listen more. Yes,I had doubts of Joseph Smith, but the missionaries challenged me to read , ponder and pray about the Book of Mormon, when I took heed of their challenge. I knew deep in my heart that The Book of Mormon is true, and if it is true, then definitely, Joseph Smith being the translator is also true. It was like a domino effect, because if Joseph Smith indeed saw Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, then He was really called of God. Same thing he did with the prophets of old. He shows himself to His chosen servants, the prophets. I know in my heart and mind that this is the true church, because I did not receive the answer form any human being, but Heavenly Father gave me the answer by the power of the Holy Ghost, I was able to know the truth.

How I live my faith

I pretty much live a normal and happy life. I always put in my mind and heart to be an example to everyone I meet, that those who never knew Jesus Christ will come to know Him because they knew me. Following the strait and narrow path has helped me in so many ways. I know that trials and tribulations are exams that I need to take to strengthen my faith. Praying have always been an important tool in my communication with our Father in Heaven , and I know that through the scriptures, is the way that He is talking to us. Listening to the counsels of the Living prophet have provided safety and security in my life. My friends who are mostly young professionals such as I, would always be amazed of how can I enjoy life to the fullest when I don't drink, smoke ,party all night , I simply told them because I want to be truly happy , not only temporarily but for eternity. No end. It goes on and on. I guess knowing the Plan of my Father in Heaven has help me in knowing what to do with my life, like making a choice coincides with eternal principles. I teach the youth during Sunday School classes. I was once a teacher for many single adults. I love to go to the Temple. It helps me clear things . I find peace inside the temple., that is why I volunteer once a week at the Temple.

Why are Mormons asked to donate 10% of their income to their Church?

Khate
We follow the commandment of the Lord, which is stated in Malachi 3:8-10. Tithing is one way of testing your faith and trust in Him, who is the giver of all. When you come to think of it, Heavenly Father owns everything, and He is rich so why does he needs the tithes? Simple, so that His kingdom here on earth would progress. To operate the temples, meeting houses, programs of the church. The free materials that we give out. Since we believe in unpaid ministry. I testify that when one pays tithes, he/she can manages his/her finances well. There are so many times that my income seems so small for me to last for the next pay check but because I offered my tithes and gave them whole heartedly, I was amazed that my meager income lasted and to my surprised, I still have extra money. I testify of His goodness, and the lessons and principles learned upon abiding to this ancient law. Show more Show less
