Hi I'm Kent Miller

I'm a missionary, I'm a convert, I'm southern by the grace of God, and most importantly I'm a mormon

About Me

I grew up in a small town, it took me a long time to realize what i was looking for, I've never been happier than I am as a mormon

Why I am a Mormon

I am a convert to the church. I was raised as a Southern Baptist in Mississippi. I did my best to worship God the best that i knew how as i grew up but i always knew something was missing. When i was 17 my girlfriend died and my life started in a downward spiral because i blamed myself for her death. I began turning to drugs and alcohol and turning away from God for my answers, at one point i looked into other religions but i always knew that my Christian foundation was solid. The addictions that i formed by living a worldly life chained me down and made me feel like i was too far removed from God to be helped. One day after talking with my dad about God i decided to pray and literally 30 minutes later I met 2 sister missionaries on the road as i walked home from grabbing a bite to eat. They helped me understand the Doctrine of Christ and the nature of God better than i had ever before. They gave me a Book of Mormon and challenged me to read it and to pray for an answer to find out if it was true or not. I exercised a particle of faith and God blessed me accordingly. I was baptized in May of 2011 and after bearing my heart felt testimony to my parents they were baptized in September of that same year. I have a testimony of being sealed to my mom and dad as of October of 2012. I know that my Redeemer lives and stands at the head of this church. I know that He instructs our Prophet and Apostles and I found all this out by sincerely praying and asking Heavenly Father myself.

How I live my faith

As of January 2013 I am serving a full time mission in the California Long Beach English speaking mission. The joy that i get from service is indescribeable. I've come to realize that a true conversion is not a singular event that describes a brief moment in your life. A conversion is a life-long process that teaches you something new everyday, both about yourself and God

Are Mormons Christians?

Kent Miller
Mormons are most definitely Christians. Our church is organized the same way that Christ Himself organized His church anciently. Show more Show less

Why do Mormons perform baptisms for the dead?

Kent Miller
We pracice baptisms for the dead because we know that our Heavenly Father loves all of His children and wants all of them to come back into His presence but without the ordinance of baptism none can enter the Kingdom of God so we are baptized vicariously for those who are dead Show more Show less
