Hi I'm Aric

I'm a regular midwestern kid from Indiana. I know that God lives and Works Miracles today. And I'm A Mormon

About Me

I'm currently on a Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I'm Originally from Indiana. I am an avid Boy Scout. I love the outdoors. Camping, hiking, swimming, sports, and just about anything a person can think of, I love to do. I reached the rank of Eagle Scout when I was 18 years old. I love to read and write, and absolutely love language and meeting people. I love learning to speak to people in their own language and learning about others and their own culture and interests. I was called as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints when I was 19 and began my service for the Lord 12 October 2011. I am called as a Portuguese Speaking Missionary to the Massachusetts Boston Mission. I love being a representative for the Savior.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know for myself that The Book of Mormon is true. It truly is another testament that Jesus is the Promised Messiah. I know for myself that it is the word of God and proves to the entire world that the Bible is true, that Jesus is The Christ and He lives, that God is the same today as He was in ancient times and will never change, that He has called prophets like Adam, Moses, and His Apostles Peter, James and John, and that He still calls Prophets and Apostles today, and will continue to call Prophets and Apostles to give direction to all His children especially in these troubling times. I know these things because I have read The Book of Mormon all the way through multiple times, and I have carefully thought about what is written in it and prayed to God in the name of Jesus Christ to know if it is true or not. I have received an answer by means of the Holy Ghost that it is true. It is the word of God and it could only have come to us by means of a prophet, a man of God called specifically to do so. I know Joseph Smith was called of God to translate the Book of Mormon, and through Joseph the Savior restored His Church as it originally was when He was on the Earth. Because I know for myself by the Power of God that these things are true, I am a Mormon. If it were not so, if they were not true I would not have anything to do with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. But these things are true, and all people every where are free to find out for themselves that they are true.

How I live my faith

I live my life by example. Actions are more powerful than words. Just as James teaches that faith without works is dead being alone, I can believe and say to the whole world what I believe all I want, but belief and faith are two separate things. Faith requires a person change their life to suit what they believe. Faith is merely belief that becomes a part of who you are. I have Faith in Jesus Christ, His death and sufferings for us, and in His teachings and the teachings of all His Prophets and Apostles. Because I have faith, I don't just believe in them, but I search the scriptures and all their teachings for ways to improve and change my life so that I can live more like Christ. Not only do I search out all the scriptures for those teachings every day, but I seriously think about what it means and how I can use what I learn in my life, how I can apply it and use it to help other people. When I read, and especially after I have thought about what I've read, I always pray to God my Father in Heaven, in the name of Christ, and give thanks for what I learn, and ask if there is more that He wants for me to learn. As I learn I always try to find ways to serve. Especially now as a missionary for the Savior. I'm a Representative of the Lord Jesus Christ, everything I do counts. So it is important that I do everything possible to help all people have a better relationship with their Heavenly Father than before, to help all people come closer to Christ than when I first meet them. This is how I live my faith, it's not complicated, I learn and I do and I do all of that with a prayer in my heart and a smile on my face.
