Hi I'm Joe

I'm a devoted husband. I'm a traveler. I'm a sports fan. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a small town in Idaho where I was born into the church and have been a Mormon my whole life. Living in Idaho gave me an appreciation for the outdoors and working hard. After graduating from high school, I chose to serve a two year volunteer mission for the LDS church in Japan. It was an amazing experience that has changed my life, especially because I saw how much the gospel blessed the lives of others. After my mission I continued studying at college where I chose to major in business. While in school I married the love of my life! Believe it or not, we met in the sixth grade and had been friends for years. But it wasn't until we were in our twenties that we decided to date. Some of our hobbies are travelling the world, experiencing beautiful art, and watching sports. We think it is important to go on adventures! Now I am in my last semester of college and we are getting ready for the next phase of our lives.

Why I am a Mormon

I love the gospel of Jesus Christ and the church that shares its message. Looking back on my life, I can trace every good thing that has happened to me back to the gospel and the LDS church. Whether it's being raised by a good family, having an opportunity to obtain a good education, or marrying a wonderful woman, I can see the hand of God in those good things. I know that the gospel is true. I know that it is true because I have asked God through sincere prayer if it is true and if I should be here. My faith in the truthfulness of the gospel is reinforced through The Bible, The Book of Mormon, and the words of prophets. I believe in Christ, and I believe that He performed the atonement so that we can become better people and return to God, our Heavenly Father, in the next life. I truly believe that God has a plan for us. He has made that plan clear to us through the scriptures and His prophets. God really does speak to us through prophets and apostles so that we can better understand His will. I also know that The Bible and The Book of Mormon are true, and that they are testaments of Jesus Christ and His gospel. I am grateful that we can pray to our Heavenly Father and receive guidance and answers from Him. One of my favorite messages of the gospel is that families can be together forever. Our relationships do not end after this life. Because of all of these things I have chosen to be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing my best to treat others well and reach out to those in need. Sometimes I do it simply by sharing experiences of my faith with others, helping out a stranger, giving encouragement to friends, or giving to the less fortunate. The church has given me many opportunities to live my faith and help others. Most recently, I have a calling (basically a responsibility that I am asked to do if I am willing) to actively share the message of the gospel with people. Because I have received so many blessing from the gospel of Jesus Christ I feel that it is important to share it with the people around me. I have also been a Sunday School teacher for youth ranging in ages from 14 to 17. I have also been a teacher for adults. I have found that no matter how old or young someone may be, there are new things to learn and more opportunities to grow closer to God and Christ.
