Hi I'm Bruce

I grew up in Idaho. I love doing anything outside, like camping, farm animals, or just being outdoors. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the youngest of 5 children and now I find myself the father of 6. Sometimes it surprises me that I am "the Dad". I am convinced that the only way I find any success in this endever is through the help of a wonderful wife who is the best mother I know. I love the work of farming or rancher so now I find joy in working on our little acrage with cows, pigs, chickens, garden and of course the kids pets.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in a Mormon family in a fairly Mormon community. It wasn't until I moved to another state that my faith was tested. At that point I had to do some real praying, studing and soul searching. Through the trials that come to me in my life I feel like I have become a stronger person with a deeper faith in and greater appreciation for my Savior. Understanding and using the Atonement of Jesus is the way that I find so much happiness and joy in my life. My faith seems to smooth out all the rough spots that have and will come to me in my life.

How I live my faith

In the past 14 years of living in our current location I have spent 12 years working with the Youth. Doing things from teaching 9 year olds on Sunday to working with High School boys to working years as a Scout Master has taught me a lot and helped me develop a real appreation for young people. Sometimes it takes a lot of faith and prayer to know what to do and how to best serve these young people. I think that kind of service has made me a better person and a better father. Now I have been asked to work with the whole congregation. It is a little out of my comfort zone to work with so many adults but it is another growing opportunity. As we read the Scriptures with my family (currently we are reading the New Testement) and pray with them it strengthens my faith and testimony and I know it helps my children develop those things for themselves.

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Bruce
Yes they can. To me that is one of the most exciting truths revealed. That I can be "bound" to my wife in heaven is one of the great joys in my life. It is a motivator for me to make better choices in my life and it brightens every day in my life to know that my wife and I can be together forever and also be connected to our children. Jesus told his Apostles that whatsoever they would bind on earth would be bound in heaven Matt 16. Show more Show less
