Hi I'm Josh

I was born in Washington. Grew up in New Zealand then Australia. Currently in USA. A student and an author to be. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 19 years old. I am currently a college student and a missionary to be, headed for the Dominican Republic, Santo Domingo West Mission! I have attended two semesters at my local Community College! I am stuck between choosing a Psychology major or heading after a Law degree. During all of this, I am also an aspiring author. I am Tongan, and proud of my culture and heritage. I also enjoy reading, I'm an avid pleasure reader, and I also dabbled in some Martial arts.

Why I am a Mormon

Well, I was born into the covenant. For all you out there, that meant that I was born into a LDS family. I grew up in a very sheltered family, and grew up with the church. From the beginning, I was mired in the works of the church. When I was three, the first I watched was the Book of Mormon Reader, Doctrine and Covenant Reader, and the Old and New Testament Reader. It is a child's version of the Book of Mormon, Bible and Doctrine and Covenants. Well having grown up with these things, I never really questioned them until I was twelve years old, and asked myself. "Is this even true?" So one night, I got down on my knees and asked my Father in heaven if I was on the right path. When I got off of my knees, I didn't have an earth shaking revelation, or even a remotely interesting thought pass through me. All I knew was that I had to wait, to trust that an answer would come. So I climbed into bed, and fell asleep. Now, I am not the kind of person who is able to easily recall the dreams I have had the night before. But I tell you this, that I will never be able to forget that night. It was as if I were floating in the warmest most calming sensation I had ever felt in my entire life. I was just floating in the purest white light, when every picture I had ever seen, and some that I have come to recognize today, of the Saviour, my Redeemer, began to appear around me, slowly covering up the white light. Eventually, the pictures reached the maximum, and I was left staring at endless pictures of Jesus, preaching, healing, teaching, serving. I don't know what it truly meant, but I'm very sure that was my answer, it was as if for one night, the Saviour came to visit me, and stayed with me.

How I live my faith

I am an Elder, in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I also serve as a Ward Missionary. That means that I help the Missionaries in my Ward teach Investigators, and I also help teach the New Member Lessons, which is to assist the New Members in acclimatizing to their new faith. I have also turned in my Mission papers and received my call. I am currently preparing to report to the Dominican Republic for my best two years, or in other words I am going on a mission.
