Hi I'm Katia

I like who I am. I am Mexican and I am a Mormon.

About Me

Hi. I'm a missionary. I'm serving in Chicago. I love to dance salsa, merengue, bachata, cumbia, and any other type of music. I also love to play volleyball and write letters to my family and friends. Those are all my favorite hobbies, but for now I've put all of that behind me to share the gospel and help others grow their faith in Christ. I come from a family of eight and I'm the oldest of the 6 children (o chamacos).

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up with the example of my parents faithful in the church. But, arrived at the moment when I had to find my own testimony of whether or not this was the real church of God. I started at age 9 to read by myself the Book of Mormon. When I finished to read I prayed and the Holy Ghost made me know that it was true words from God. It was from that moment when my testimony began to grow about the restored church of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

Well, I try to be an example in everything I do and say. I've had the opportunity to have many callings in the church and I've realized that each one of them is essential to help us learn and grow. And now my calling is to serve a mission for the Lord full-time. I try to set a good example for my younger brothers and sister in being faithful in obeying the commandments I've been given. I love keeping a journal, knowing that one day one of my grandchildren will read it and will learn something and have their faith strengthened from the experiences I've had, lessons I've learned, and miracles that my Heavenly Father has given me to help me keep going.
