Hi I'm Lindsey

I'm just a big kid that is stuck in an adults life. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am, in a nutshell, a nerd. I played flute in band. Was on the math team. I read a lot. I really enjoy Science Fiction and Fantasy movies/books. Listen to Enya from time to time. Play many video games. Play Dungeons & Dragons. Play Magic the Gathering. Watch anime. Still play with Nerf guns and swords.Although I am 24 years old and I pay bills and do all that grown up stuff, Im still a kid at heart. I am also a Navy wife, so thats shaped a lot of who I am.

Why I am a Mormon

Ive been a part of many denominations of churches.I noticed that many churches were good churches, but I knew they didnt have it all right or was missing something. At 19 is when my husband and I started moving around and for the next 5 years I wasnt in any church. One day, missionaries came to my door & they reminded me of how much Our Heavenly Father loves me.They reminded me of things I knew long before and turned my back on.If that day was the only time I had seen those guys my life was already in a better place because of them.I enjoy learning about other peoples beliefs so when they offered to share with me what their church was, I was willing to listen to them, but I told them straight up Im not converting. They said simply, "ok."These guys were awesome, they never tried to force a conviction on me, or judge me in any way. They simply shared their message.I came across James 1:5-6 (before I knew of the impact this same scripture had on Joseph Smith)."If you lack wisdom ask of God...but if you ask believe do not doubt."Over the next three weeks it seemed like everytime I studied I got the same message. "Listen" "Listen" "Listen" I realized that I had full faith in the Bible although I KNEW mankind has butchered it, why was it so hard to believe in the Book of Mormon. I was letting the title of "Mormon" stand in my way of knowing the truth. I let fears hinder me. I had to let go of it all. I wanted to know what the truth was, so I prayed for it daily. I studied daily. And a little at a time, it all came together in pieces. I knew the Book of Mormon was truth. I knew Joseph Smith was right. I know this is the church that is patterned after the church Christ himself set up. Not only is this church true, but its complete. I didnt come to know or believe this over night or all in one magical moment. It was a journey that took time, and it took Gods patience, and for me to finally listen. I invite you on the same journey, Listen to His Voice. He will guide you always.

How I live my faith

I am very new to the church. I have been growing and studying much. In my studies God has been very clear that Im just getting started. Its more than repenting, and being baptized. Its living what you believe. Dont be a "dog that has a bark with no bite" kind of thing. I know its important for me to not grow too comfortable, or prideful. That all righteousness comes from Christ. Its His hand that leads me, its His hand that holds me when my steps falter. Im willing to share what I have learned to anybody what wants to know. And I pray that my example that I leave behind me in my day to day actions reflect well what this, HIS, church is all about. Charity: "The pure love of Christ"
