Hi I'm Sterling

HEY! Yes, I love life.. Everything about it! I'm a student... I'm a coach... and I'm a MORMON! :)

About Me

I'm just an average guy who's striving to make the best of each and every day! Going to city college, coaching volleyball, working with special needs kids.. life couldn't be better! I love people, I love sports, and I love life!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family of "Mormons." I was raised with the beliefs the LDS church teaches, and taught to always do what I feel is right. People might say, oh you've been a Mormon your whole life, you don't know what it's like...(fill in the blank). I beg to differ! Each and every one of us is given the opportunity to CHOOSE what we do with our own individual lives. Nothing is ever set in stone FOR us, unless WE choose it to be that way. I'm a Mormon because I choose to be. The most joy I've ever experienced in my life has come because of my decision to follow the teachings of Christ's TRUE Church. I'm a Mormon because I know that when I DO do the right thing, I'm abundantly blessed, and so is my family. I know that the "Mormon Church" Properly known as The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints offers a gift no other church on this earth offers... the opportunity to dwell in Eternity, SEALED to our family.. to our spouses, parents, children, grandparents, cousins... everyone. We can live with them for the rest of forever. What would Heaven be without family?? NOT HEAVEN! I'm a Mormon because I know it's all true.

How I live my faith

Every day is a battle to do the right thing. Faith isn't just a belief- it's an action verb. Each day I pray for guidance and to know what the Lord would have me do that day. I strive to help others feel of the love I feel from my Father in Heaven. I served a mission for the LDS church in Calgary, Canada. I devoted all of my time & efforts to helping others come unto Christ. I gave my all, and in return, the Lord has richly blessed me.. and continues to do so each and every day.

Can you tell me about Mormon customs: how you dress for church, what holidays you celebrate, etc.?

Sterling
For church, we dress our best. Men wear slacks, white shirts and ties; Ladies wear modest skirts, dresses, blouses, etc. I'm not too savvy on the female dress. As for holidays, we celebrate all Christian holidays, easter, christmas, and wherever we live in the world, we celebrate local holidays. And yes, we (mormons) even celebrate birthdays! We love to live life to the fullest, have fun at social events and dances. Being LDS is in no way prohibiting, it is the exact opposite! I am free! Show more Show less
