Hi I'm Teresa

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Teresa. I work as a Special Education Teacher at an elementary school. I am in my 7th year of teaching.. I am also working on a Masters degree in Special Education. Those two things keep my pretty busy, but in my spare time I enjoy playing the piano, singing, reading, watching movies, and spending time with my family and friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I've been a member of the church all my life, but I've gained my own testimony over the years. Being a Mormon has helped me to understand that I am a daughter of God and gives me a goal of returning to my Heavenly Father. In other words, I know who I am and where I am going. Being a Mormon gives me standards to live by and this brings freedom, joy, and peace into my life. I also love knowing that if I live by the covenants I have made I can be with my family forever.

How I live my faith

I try to stay involved in my ward. I have served in callings such as teaching, playing the piano in a women's meeting, and preparing meals for church socials. I also attend a weekly religiion class.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

We believe that God is perfect and to be like God and live with him (our ultimate goals) we must also become perfect. Sin separates us from God and without the Savior we could not return to him. The Savior lived a sinless life and because of these he is able to take the sins of all mankind upon him. His sacrafice makes us clean again. We must come to know the Savior, be baptized into his church, receive the Holy Ghost, and live like he did. This sacrifice is called the Atonement. It can be utilized throughout our lives. Our Heavenly Father knew that we would make mistakes and lovingly provided a way back to him. Show more Show less

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

We believe that there is a prophet on earth today and that he leads and guides our church. We believe that revelation for the church and for the world is received through the prophet. There were prophets in ancient times and there is a prophet on the earth in our day. Thomas S. Monson has been called as our prophet in modern times. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about the nature of God?

God is the father of our spirits. That's why in our church he is often referred to as Heavenly Father. He was once a man like us. He has flesh and bone and we are created in his image. He is the supreme example of a father in that he is wise, kind, and loving. He wants his children to know him and come to him. He loves his children and wants them to find true joy.
