Hi I'm Benjamin.

I grew up in Rupert, Idaho. I like wakeboarding and helping in the Church Welfare Program. I´m a Mormon.

About Me

I like anything that has to do with outdoors. I love playing tennis and baseball and I love to cook. I am attending BYU-Idaho and just returned from a mission in Oaxaca, Mexico. I look forward to a temple marriage and teaching my children, by example, how to live this gospel.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon since birth, and growing up my parents always tried to teach me how to follow the principles of the gospel. When I was a teenager, I had thoughts about being a member of the church and realized that I didn´t really have a testimony of my own. However, after reading the Book of Mormon and doing as Moroni promises in Moroni 10:3-5, I gained a testimony of my very own. Being able to have that feeling in my heart and see how that same feeling had manifested itself in the lives of those I met while on my mission, I came to know that this church was, and is, true. My testimony was reaffirmed when I heard a talk during general conference saying that "no evil man would write the Book of Mormon, and no good man would write it, unless he was commanded of God". I know that the Book of Mormon is true and that anyone, anywhere can know of its truthfulness, if they ask with faith and an open heart, willing to accept the answer that God will give them.

How I live my faith

I help teach the young men of my ward. I help them complete their personal goals and we talk about fun activities that we can do while remembering who we are as children of God. We always speak about service activites that we can do in order to make the lives of others a little easier.

Why was a Restoration of the Gospel needed? Haven’t we always had the Bible?

Benjamin.
It was necessary that there was a restoration of the gospel so that we, as children of a loving Heavenly Father, could have the fulness of the gospel. Yes, we have always had the Bible. The Great Apostasy took place and many people spiritually lost their way. An apostasy is a period of time when neither the fulness of the gospel or the priesthood authority is on the earth. The Great Apostasy happened after Christ´s crucifixion and the death of His apostles. Many people were confused because now they had no one to guide them. It is during this time that many of the plain and simple truths that the Bible contained were lost due to the intrepetations of man and the fact that they took out and replaced certain doctrines with what was convenient for them at that time. Also, due to this event, many of the different churches of today were started. Many people chose scripture passages and founded their churches on a certain topic. However, through the Restoration and the Book of Mormon, we now have the opportunity to know the fulness of the gospel, or in other words, all of things which we need to do in order to live eternally with our Father in Heaven. This is why we claim and know that the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ and contains the fulness of the His gospel. Show more Show less
