Hi I'm BJ Patterson

I'm from High Point North Carolina, I love sports, especially basketball and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and have been a mormon my entire life. I was blessed to serve a full time mission in the Texas Dallas Mission. I enjoy hunting, playing and watching all sports especially when one of my siblings are playing. I am currently a salesperson and I get to travel around North and South Carolina but I'm going to school to become a counselor and I would love to own a restaurant(which I'm working on). I'm a HUGE tarheel fan and throughly enjoy watching them play anything. I love being around people and I love meeting new people.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm Mormon because I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Saints is the true church of Christ. I know that the Lord loves us and has provided a way for us to return to live with Him for eternity. I know that the atonement is real, that Christ lived, he walked the earth and taught the gospel, performed miracles and set the example for us to follow. I know he suffered and died on the cross for our sins to provide a way for us to return to live with Him again. I know that the atonement encompasses more than just our sins, that Christ suffered all the pains and agonies that we could ever suffer. As I have grown up and faced challenges I have been able learn to rely on my faith and the atonement to get me through the struggles that life has thrown at me. I know that we have a living prophet that guides us today. The Lord blessed us with His priesthood to allow us to act in his name and be able perform the proper ordinances that allow us to return to live with Him. I know the Book of Mormon is truly the word of God and works as a companion to the Bible. It is a road map back to our Father in Heaven and as we read and study it our lives can be blessed. I know that the Lord hears and answers our prayers, in his time frame and in his own way. I know these because I have studied them out, I have read, I have pondered and I have prayed to know if they are true. I have done this more than once and can say with complete confidence that there is no doubt in my mind that this is the Lord church and His work. I've been blessed with a testimony and I will forever be grateful for the knowledge that I've been blessed with and continue to gain. I know this church is true, I know that the Lord loves us, each of us and there is no way he would close the heavens and leave us here to fend for ourselves. Faith is believing in something without have any proof, if you want to know for yourself you must exercise your faith and ask God, with a sincere heart!

How I live my faith

I try to live my life in a way that exemplifies the things I know to be true. I enjoy providing service to others in need and I'm always in search of service project that I can participate in. It's is my assignment to seek out and and establish opportunities for the men of my ward to come together to provide service for people in the community, both members and non-members alike. I am preparing to volunteer at a local hospital and I like to visit with people to help them out. I have been blessed with the opportunity to be a home teacher which means I have a number of families that I am allowed to visit with on a monthly basis and provide them with a spiritual message and help them out in any way I can. I don't smoke, drink and alcohol, coffee or tea nor due I watch R rated movies or other films I feel and inappropriate. I try to live my life as Christ did, loving others and trying to be patient with them and view things from their perspective, though I fall short most of the time. I go to church, attend my church meetings, pay tithing and attend the temple. I'm honest in all that I do and strive to see the good in everyone and every situation. I'm not perfect, nor do I claim to be but I utilize the gift the of the atonement on a daily basis to continue to help me grow. I try to follow to the example of the Savior and do the things He has asked us to do. I try to work hard and strengthen the talents I've been blessed with while trying to find ways to acquire and develop new talents through the blessings of the Lord. I have been blessed to serve in the church, including a 2 year mission to the Texas, Dallas mission as well as teaching Sunday to primary students as well as adults, I've worked with the boy scouts and helped out in the nursery too. I live my faith by striving to be a better person everyday and expressing gratitude to my Heavenly Father daily for the innumerable blessing He has and continues to bless me with.
