Hi I'm Lingow

I'm a Mexican, simple, fun, happy and geeky guy. Being Mormon is totally Awesome!

About Me

I'm an Electronics Engineering Student. I also work part time on an industrial automation businesses. On my spare time I like to work on personal projects, like creating video games or planning an enterprise, hang out with my friends, play the guitar or look for parties to attend.

Why I am a Mormon

Actually, I'm a Mormon since I was a child. My mother was baptized when she was 14 and took me to church since I was born, even tough my Dad wasn't baptized until two years ago. This makes me think my conversion was an easy one, and maybe it was, but as good and valid as others'. I myself had to decide on following the gospel of Christ, and applying his principles in my life, even tough most of my friends and the people with whom I spend my time are (still) not from the Church. I myself had to decide on serving in a Mission 4 years ago, which proved to be an amazingly good decision. I myself had to chose to be an (hyper) active church member and willingly give my time to service visiting those in need. The motivation that took me to chose this things is that I have always liked to create or do cool stuff. It's super fun to me! That's also why I studied Engineering, write novels, plan businesses, program video games, upload web-pages, compose songs, design gadgets, and repair stuff in my free time. The Church of Jesus Christ is just so cool, logic, complete and fun that once knowing what it is about it would be just too dumb not to know it's truly His Church, as I know He also likes to do awesome things. After realizing this and doing some prayers, I understood that this feeling came from God through the Holy Ghost. Yeah, just like that. I know I'm working with him in the amazing project of the redemption of god's kindred. How Great is that!? ;)

How I live my faith

Right now, I serve as the Young Men President in my ward, making sure teens become good guys, serve others and have a great time together. We often organize soccer tournaments and visit every Young Men to invite him and his friends to come along. This we do, of course apart from the common Young Men activities, like quorum meetings or Mutual reunions. We have such a fun time together. I will also serve voluntarily in the EFY program this year. I know that will be an incredible experience not only for me, but for them, and I will make sure it is. I also serve in the student council of the local Institute of Religion, as leader of the spiritual committee, which is in charge of organizing activities which raise the spirit and testimony of young single adults as well as that of the people we serve together. I spend a lot of time with people of other religions. They all know me for being a good and cool guy. In some way, they get to trust me their feelings and troubles, and look for me to get some advice. Even then, they ask me about the teachings of the Church, and I always tell them a few things, inviting them politely and sincerely to learn more for themselves. Sharing what makes me happy makes them happy to. Being Mormon is soooo fun!
