Hi I'm Brindi

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Brindi. I have been LDS all my life as well as lived in Utah up until our recent move to the Lonestar State of Texas. It was been a great experience for us. I married my husband in the Salt Lake LDS temple. We have 4 boys and a girl. My husband finished his undergrad degree before we had our first child. I finished mine after our second. We felt that we needed more education and put my husband back into school doing graduate work and also we became pregnant with #3, a big surprise to us. My husband completed 2 Master degrees (MBA, Masters of Human Resources). We now live in Texas with a wonderful ward family and have grown by 2 more children.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a very active LDS family. My ancestors were some of the early church members and pioneers. I felt the spirit many times growing up with my active extended families. I had witnesses early on. The most profound time in my life where I remember knowing without a shadow of a doubt that Jesus was my Savior and that the church was true was when I was 17. Our church has camps for their youth. It was at this combined Young Men and Young Women campout that I had my first major spiritual moment for myself. I knew Jesus knew me personally and cared for me. I knew that His church was restored. I am so very blessed to have both sides of my extended family be part our our religion. I also married into a very active LDS family. Having family have the same values and morals helps support our family in my resolve to do our best teaching our children to be righteous. Our faith and religion are everything in our lives. We truly know Jesus is our Savior and that he atoned and died for every single sin we have commited. We know that Joseph Smith was visited by him and our Heavenly Father and they restored the true and original church. I know that The Book of Mormon is true and gives us evidence of His visit to the people in the Americas following the Atonement and Crucifixion. This book contains another testament to Jesus Christ to be added to the testimonies contained in the Holy Bible. We know that they help direct and guide our lives as we live faithfully. We are so blessed to be able to be apart of the true church.

How I live my faith

We try to share our faith but not to discredit any other religion or belief. For example the Sabbath day is very sacred to us. Since this is a day we have reserved for our religion and family we have to decline many social events, even though we are trying hard to network and make friends. The Lord has blessed us to be with very understanding people who not only support our decisions but then ask questions about our religion. We have also been able to share our morals, specifically the Word of Wisdom, because of our habits. Many do not understand why we chose to live this way but it gives us a great opportunity to share our beliefs. I am grateful that my children have the chance to live is such a Christian place. They are learning to love a person's soul and to see how they live their faith and it inspires us to live up to our covenants we have made.
