Hi I'm Jason

I am the oldest of 8 children, currently serving in Florida Fort Lauderdale and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Living right up against a mountain, I love mountain-biking. Being able to climb a mountain and to see everything below you is an incredible experience, you feel like you are on top of the world. Then comes the fun part, flying down the mountain through little strails and streams while trying to just stay alive. But mountain biking is not all I enjoy doing in the mountains, getting a group of friends togethor to paintball can also be a fun and 'colorful' experience. Other things I love to do include basketball, tennis, playing the piano, and a long game of Monopoly or Risk! I am also a student of BYU preparing to enter into the Marriot School of Business. I love working with different business ideas and turning them into something. I love to work with small-businesses to help them grow through websites and online advertising. It is an incredible thing for me to see something start from an idea and turn into something real that can help people. This started out with a desire to make a website to help students better prepare for college and has opened up an exciting world of opportunities for me. However, my work and studies have been postponed for something more important, as I am serving as a full-time missionary for the Church in Florida, Fort Lauderdale, where I have learned and experienced more than any school can give me. I have two great parents, & the oldest of eight children, the youngest was born just a few months ago, & I am excited to meet him when I get home!

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon? Well I was born in the church, but that is not why I am a Mormon. I am a Mormon, or a Latter Day Saint, because I have studied, pondered, and prayed to learn for my self if the Book of Mormon and the Church is true. I was 16 years old when I decided to find out for myself if what everyone was telling me was true (again, I was born in the Church.) So I began to read and pray about the Book of Mormon. I prayed a lot, I read a lot. But nothing seemed to happen. I knew God would answer my prayers, because he had done so before. So I continued to read and pray, I also fasted and lived the commandments, doing my best to show God that I would work for an answer and most importantly that I was willing to live the gospel if it was true. Then one night as I was praying, after reading the Moronis promise and James 1:5, I received an answer by the power of the Holy Ghost. It was a burning in my heart that chased out all doubt, such warmth from the Holy Ghost gave me more joy than I have ever had in my life. That warmth and testimony continues to grow whenever I share my testimony with others. My testimony means more to me than just about anything. My testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ has been the founding basis of direction in my life. How precious it is! I know and can promise you that it is true, and that you can get an answer for yourself if you read, pray, and live the commandments, having faith that He will answer you.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving to follow my Saviour and example Jesus Christ. I am currently serving as a missionary proclaiming His message that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has been restored to the earth. It is the most wonderful message that I could possibly share with anyone. I have seen it bring great joy to peoples lives as they live the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Before serving as a full time missionary I lived my faith by giving service to others, fulfilling church assignments, and striving to live a clean life.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Certainly Not! I would say that members of the Church view Joseph Smith as people in the Old Testament would look to Moses; a powerful, dedicated, prophet and servent of the Lord. We believe that Jesus Christ restored his living Church through the prophet Joseph Smith. Through that restored gospel we worship God our Eternal Father and our Saviour Jesus Christ.
