Hi I'm Sam

I grew up in Zambia, and live in Cape Town. I once dreamed of swimming in the Olympics. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I'm a competitive swimmer, a musician, and an aspiring author among other things. What I love most about life, are the incredible people I get to meet who do amazing things; real ordinary people with extra-ordinary capacities to do good. I believe most people are good. You'd have to work really hard to change my view of that one. I also think one of the greatest attributes is the ability to forgive and be slow to anger. Its great being around people who never get angry. Life is just happier that way.

Why I am a Mormon

Life is a puzzle. Everyone is trying to fit the pieces together to make sense out of our experience here on this Earth. I'm Mormon because the pieces I've been able to put together with the restored gospel have given me an incredibly clear perspective of who I am, my relationship to God and to the rest of mankind.

How I live my faith

I'm a youth leader, and so I strive to lead the youth by example and also by teaching them how to apply gospel principles in their own lives. It requires a lot of time to prepare for the youth. They know when you aren't concerned about them, and so you've got to convince them that you have their best interests at heart. You can't do that without sacrificing your time.
