Hi I'm Trevor

I love skiing, I love livng life and making it fun! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student. For some reason beyond my comprehension I have decided upon microbiology as my major. I love it though, minus the studying part... I also like sports, not your everyday things though, I like sports that have inherent risks, things that can tend to be scary, skiing for example is one, and I love it. I love that feeling of being in the air; I love being able to push myself to do things that seem scary, and then doing them again and again until I have mastered it. I often find myself looking at something difficult and thinking, “yeah, that’s do-able.” I also enjoy making art, I love taking a blank piece of paper and creating something that genuinely can hold some ones attention and make them feel something. I have so many things that interest me it is hard to find time to do it all. I try to make every day as fun and as exciting as I possibly can, sometimes it’s really tough but that's life, you just have to do your best and cross your fingers sometimes.

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon is a question that I ask myself often, I was born a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I was baptized at eight and my family was a church going, very religious family. But that is not why I am Mormon. I am a Mormon because I did what I needed to do to know for myself if Joseph Smith restored the true gospel of Jesus Christ and if the Book of Mormon was true. I can tell you with assurance that it is, and the secret formula to this assurance is this: Pray to God with an open heart and ask him a question. If one does this with faith and an open heart God will tell you what he told me! He will tell you Joseph Smith is a prophet of God, this gospel is his and it truly will bring happiness into your life, and that the Book of Mormon is, in fact, his word! I have proved this method many times and many times i have come to feel Gods love and come to better understand what is expected of me.

How I live my faith

I live my faith in many ways. My favorite way in which I live my faith is being a part of my family. I have been blessed with a family that understands and encourages my involvement in the church. I am also currently a teacher. I have the opportunity to prepare a lesson and teach it Sunday afternoons. I have come to see that teaching can be fun. These are some of the bigger things that I do to live my faith, but on another level i try to read my scriptures every day and have daily personal prayer as well. There is a happiness that comes when I live my faith that I cannot find anywhere else. This happiness and the knowledge that God won't tell me to do something that I can't do keep me going when I feel like living my faith has become too hard or more than i can handle.

What is being a Mormon like?

Being a Mormon is great! Some people will say there are lots of rules. But I look at it from a different angle. The things that i choose not to do tend to bring chaos and dissorder to peoples lives, I feel life is chaotic enough without these things. Also, when i follow what i know to be right i feel peace in my life. I am really much happier when I do what i know to be right. This peace and happiness is something one must experience to understand but i can really say, It is worth it! But all in all i feel i am pretty normal, yes, religiously i have a different culture and vocabulary, but I can get along and be friends with just about anyone. Being a member of the church just makes life more enjoyable to me. Show more Show less
