Hi I'm Shanna

I grew up an Idaho farm girl, my husband and I also live on a farm and have raised our 5 children here. I am a Mormon

About Me

I'm a wife, mother, and grandmother. I am a partner with my husband in an environmental service business and the family farm. I love to read, create scrapbooks, and spend time with my family. I like to cook..most of the time. I have worked a long time trying to perfect my skills at making wonderful chocolates. I would probably own and operate a chocolate business if I didn't already have a job. I love to make bread, and share it with others.I love photography, another thing I would do if I had the time. There is so much to learn and so much to do in this life, I believe it is much too short, to EVER be bored.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in a family that was very active and strong in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I am so very grateful for parents who lived and taught by example the things that they believed in. Because of their faithfulness, I have known since I was a small child that this Gospel is true. I have never questioned it because I have had too many witnesses of its truthfulness to ever deny it. I know that God loves us, that he watches over us, that he is ALWAYS there for us. He put us here on this earth to prove ourselves worthy to live with Him again someday, and if we will put ourselves in His hands and make His will our will, He can do much more with us than we can alone, and we will find so much more joy in this life and in the life to come. I am a Mormon because of the peace and understanding, the eternal perspective and joy that this knowledge gives to me and my family. I cannot imagine living life in the world today without this knowledge.

How I live my faith

I live my faith everyday by trying to be a good example to my children, my husband, my friends and others I associate with. Part of living our faith includes striving to keep a positive outlook on life, though the world about us is in turmoil. We have so much to be happy about, because of our faith. I live my faith by fulfilling the callings I have been given. For the past 2 1/2 years I have worked with the young women ages 12-18. As a leader, I have taught them homemaking skills, I have taught them about facing challenges in life successfully, and about who they are as daughters of God. I live my faith by attending our temple regularly, and keeping the promises I have made there. I also feel it is very important to support my children, and my husband in their callings and responsibilities in the church and community. Living our faith is something we have to work at every day.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

God's creation is to me, supreme evidence of his existence. I heard it said once, that you could more easily toss a million letters into the air, and expect them come down all organized into a complete dictionary, than to have this world created by sheer chance. Everything works in such precision. Looking at the intricacies of a small leaf, how could it be chance? The amazing precise machine that we call our bodies, to be able to grow, to heal itself, to live, how could that be chance? There is divinity in everything we see in God's creation, witnessing of Him. Show more Show less
