Hi I'm Diane_R

I am a wife, mother, sister, daughter, grandma and a friend. I work hard and play hard. I love to laugh and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I work in a marketing department for a company headquartered in my city. It is fun to know that the President of our Church has a background in printing. I have spent nearly all my career in the print industry. I was raised to love the spirit of industry and enjoy working hard. In my spare time I love domestic things such as experimenting with recipes and using a wide variety of kitchen gadgets. The only thing more fun that reading a good book or watching Law & Order reruns is playing with my grandchildren. My kids say I am a fun grandma because I love to giggle. Laughing is a great part of who I am. Often I am the only one laughing at my jokes, but I am a good audience for myself. I have 10 siblings who think I am funny -- at least they act like I am. Maybe that is because they are polite. I love my siblings as much as my own children. Family is the best part of life. My name is Diane and I am a Mormon..

Why I am a Mormon

As a sixth generation member of The Church, my family history goes back to 1830 when some of my ancestors were baptized as members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I have a rich heritage that gives me a sense of connectedness to the restoration. As a young child my parents had Family Home Evening and I attended Mormon Church meetings including Primary. Consistent with those before me, I was baptized at 8 and felt I understood what it meant to become a Christian. When I was 9 or 10 years old one of my primary teachers taught about life before earth. She told us that we lived with Heavenly Father and accepted Christ and wanted to come to earth and be like Him. I had a warm feeling come over me. When she talked about this wonderful "plan of happiness" I had a sweet sense that what my teacher was saying was really true. At that moment I had an assurance that I lived with Our Father in Heaven before the world was created and that I wanted to be on the side with Christ. This was the start of my testimony. Nearly every day since that sweet experience I have seen other evidences of gospel truths in my life. Feelings similar to the quiet warmth that came over me as a young child in a primary class, bring a further knowledge of God, in my mind and heart. I feel a strong conviction that living the gospel and dedicating myself to the teachings of The Church is what I need to do to have happiness -- joy beyond description. I want all those that I love to have the same understanding and happiness.

How I live my faith

Giving service in the church has been part of my life since I was a teenager. I have served in every church auxillary including being a Primary Teacher, Sunday School Teacher, Seminary Teacher, Relief Society Teacher, working in the Ward Library, Activities Committee member, singing in Ward Choir, sports coach and numerous other opportunities to show my faith in the service to others. I try to live my life with a full commitment to the teachings of The Church and share my thoughts and feelings to all those I meet -- members and non-members, both. The one thing that helps me live my faith is the study of God's Word, through reading scriptures. I also pray to stay close to Heavenly Father every day. I have much more I should be doing to be the kind of person that I believe God knows me to be. It is not always easy. Showing love to others and doing the basics is a commitment I strive for every day.
