Hi I'm Matt

I'm a Mormon

About Me

I'm a student, partway through college, and will eventually be a high school teacher. I'm an avid reader and I love to play soccer, golf, and tennis for fun. I love to learn languages, but especially the cultures of those people who speak the languages I attempt to learn. My friends and family are the most important people in my life. If we meet and share some fun experiences, you can expect to hear from me every so often after.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that God is there for me, and that He truly wants what is best for me. We are all invited to read the Book of Mormon, ponder it in our hearts, and pray and ask God if the book is true. If we do that with real intent, having faith in Christ, we can know by the power of the Holy Ghost that the Book of Mormon is true. I took that invitation, and through those personal experiences, that we can only have personally, I have received the answer that the Book of Mormon is true. Through that, we also know that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God, and that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God, and that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is Christ's kingdom on the Earth preparatory to His Second Coming.

How I live my faith

As mentioned earlier in passing, I recently finished serving a mission. For two years, I lived and served in Switzerland, teaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and of the Restoration of His Church. I learned German while I was there, so that they could hear the good news in their mother language. Before the mission and my first year of college, I was a teacher of the 11-year-olds in the church in my area.

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

The missionaries talk about the Restoration of the Church of Jesus Christ and about the coming forth of the Book of Mormon. They will then talk about the Plan of Salvation, or our Heavenly Father's plan for us, so that we know what we are preparing ourselves for. Especially that our families will be able to live together forever. They will then teach how one can attain life with our Heavenly Father after this life. Then, the commandments are taught, or what is expected of us by our Heavenly Father in order to lay claim on the blessings He offers us. Show more Show less
