Hi I'm Larry

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband and father. For right now that sums up my hobbies and interests. Whatever my kids are doing I like to be doing it with them.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in Utah, but that is not why I am a Mormon. My Dad is a Mormon, but that is not why I am a Mormon. I married a Mormon, but that is not why I am a Mormon. I grew up not a member of the Church. Religion was not a priority in my home and I learned little about the Gospel of Jesus Christ from my parents. I was familiar with the Church and had many friends who were very active and lived, and do live, the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I always assumed it wasn't for me. I married my high school sweetheart who was LDS but not active. The Church had not been a priority in her home growing up either. At age 30, we were transferred out of state for work and had an amazing experience. My wife had a desire to start going to church after we were married and I was never very supportive of the idea. When we moved away from home friends and family I was so far outside my comfort zone that I agreed to take my wife to church so she could meet friends. The most incredible thing happened when, with our two young children, we went to church together for the first time as a family. The people there in our small Ward were so outgoing and thoughtful. They assumed that us coming from Utah we were active members, but weren't discouraged or disappointed when they found out we were not. On the contrary, they went above and beyond to make us feel welcome to their congregation and community. That first day my wife had visiting teachers and we had the Missionaries stopping by on a regular basis. I had no intention of joining the Church, but the Lord had a different plan for me. After 7 months of attending every Sunday, mingled with weekly sometimes twice a week discussions from incredible, thoughtful, and prayerful Missionaries, my own prayers to my Father in Heaven were answered to a few simple questions. My answers were all yes, God Lives, Jesus is the Christ, Joseph Smith was a Prophet of God, the Book of Mormon is true and we are led by a Prophet today. My testimony has only grown since.

How I live my faith

I live my Faith, by Faith. When we do what we are supposed to do we will be blessed.
