Hi I'm Annelise.

I am very analytical. I love learning. I grew up a member of the church, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in the desert and just finished college with a degree in psychology. I admit I watch people around me a lot and tend to "overthink." Rather than feel I know everything about others, though, I see from many perspectives and realize how much I don't know. I think one of the most important things in life is to be nice. But besides that, it is important to laugh! Right now I am preparing to serve in the Wisconsin Milwaukee Mission. I am also teaching the 3-4 year olds every Sunday and it has been a grace to me as I wait. I love their curiosity, enthusiasm, and authenticity. They are also accepting, and good at loving others. They take whatever you have to give and give whatever they can. Which usually just looks like energy. But I think one of the most important ways to show love for others is just to give of yourselves to them. Which manifests itself in a lot of ways. Everyone has a lot to give. That is one of the greatest challenges for me, and the kids have helped me to practice getting out of that habit. I hope to be able to share everything the gospel has brought to me with those I meet on my mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church. My heart is always being converted--having moments of clarity and peace in this world that can have so much confusion and loneliness and other pains. Through my life the gospel has continually been the source of that peace, clarity, and love. Moroni 7:16 in the Book of Mormon states that "every thing which inviteth to do good, and to persuade to believe in Christ, is sent forth by the power and gift of Christ." I know there is so much good in the world. I am proud to be a member of a church that advocates so much good throughout the world, and does so much good throughout the world. Sometimes in life we see good mixed with evil and truth mixed with lies, but I have a testimony that this church is true because it contains unadulterated truth and goodness. It also contains the most I have ever seen, and I believe it contains every truth and good thing there is out there. It contains the key to all the beauty and joy there is to be had in this life.

How I live my faith

I think the best way to live my faith is constantly and consistently. I go to church every Sunday and make participation in activities of my church a priority. It is something I try to provide the most support to that I can. I also try to strengthen my own knowledge of what it means to be a Latter-Day Saint, what it means to become like our Heavenly Father and like Jesus, and what it means to be a good person. I do this through personal study of the gospel and looking at things about myself I might need to change. Everyone is going to live their faith differently because everyone lives differently. I think the important thing here is dedication to your beliefs, and how much your spirituality is integrated into your everyday life. For me, I love to learn. Whether it is scripture stories and gospel principles, psychological theories, or even cooking new meals or admiring my surroundings, I like to think about gospel truths that are relevant.
