Hi I'm Bob

I'm a Mormon. I was born in New Jersey, U.S.A. and raised in Florida.

About Me

I am a father, a grand father and a great grandfather. I am a former bicycle racer, having won many races and I still ride medium distances three to five times a week. I enjoy having my children around me and having the opportunity to help them with their various problems. Most of all, I enjoy spending time with my wife of thirty five years. The people I associate with, both in and out of the Church, look to me for guidance in many areas of life, as I look to our Heavenly Father for guidance.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was first introduced to the Church by the missionaries, they taught me things I was never taught in my other religion that had that feeling of just "right" and I had heard these teaching someplace before. I had, at that time, 3 specific questions that I had asked a number of credentialed clergy of different faiths, and my answers were generally the same. "Mysteries to be taken by faith", or, "those questions are for God to know", or answers along that line of thinking. I asked the missionaries my questions, and the answers were very revealing to me. One question was answered, "Oh, that is right here in the bible". The next question was "Oh, that is right here in the Bible, also in the Book of Mormon". And the last question was answered in not only the Bible, but also the Book of Mormon, and another set of scriptures called The Pearl of Great Price. To say I was impressed by their knowledge of the scriptures was is an understatement, so I wanted to learn more. I have come to learn much more. That this Gospel is true, that Jesus is the Christ, and so much more.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to set a good example to those around me, by being honest with my friends and associates both in work and play. Having compassion for others has presented opportunities to lead ,guide and direct others, often seeking guidance for them through prayer.I have had the opportunity to teach our youth, both members and non-members through the boy scouts for a number of years. I have had the opportunity to teach the Gospel of Jesus Christ to people interested in learning more about Him in a number of different settings. The blessings of following Christ have been a tremendous blessing to me and my family which I am certain would not be forthcoming otherwise. The scriptures tell us that "I the Lord am bound when ye do what I say: but when ye do not what I say, ye have no promise".

How are the activities of the Mormon missionaries funded?

Bob
Basically, full time missionaries of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints are funded through their own efforts by working to save up for their mission. Other ways they are funded is through parent and friends support, or church members. Show more Show less
