Hi I'm Vanessa

I grew up in a rural town. I'm a twin. I'm a wife and mom. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married for 6 years to the coolest man alive! I graduated from college and taught History at a High School before becoming a Mom to the sweetest little girl!

Why I am a Mormon

I know that throughout my life, I have been guided and directed to pure happiness through the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It does not matter what problems I may encounter or tough decisions I need to make, I can always learn and choose what will bring me and my family the most joy by following the principles that Jesus Christ taught. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is so full of truth and light. I feel empowered by knowing that I came from Heavenly Parents, have been given a body and chance to live on this Earth, and know that through the Atonement of Jesus Christ, I will return to my Heavenly Parents. I love life and the lessons that I learn everyday in patience, understanding, service, love, and trying to be more like my Savior, Jesus Christ. I am not perfect, but it brings me peace and pleasure in my life to try to become as He was and still is.

How I live my faith

I attend church each week and truly listen to the teachings of Christ. Each day, from Monday until the next Sunday I think of ways to serve my neighbors and to strengthen my family through kindness and happiness, just as Christ taught. As I have done this, I have noticed how rich my relationships are and the immense love and gratitude I feel for every aspect of my life.

What is faith?

Faith is hope for things that are not seen, yet are true. Faith is the first principle of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Upon faith, a great belief and understanding of God and His Son, Jesus Christ can be built. Faith is not just something you can acquire and keep to use whenever you wish. Faith is an ACTION! You must actively seek out the hope and belief in God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ. I try to remember this everyday as I read my Holy Bible and especially my Book of Mormon. I also can feel my faith in God and Jesus Christ grow as I attend Church. I have a perspective on life that I know would be impossible without my faith. I am able to learn each week how to better use and practice faith throughout the ups and downs of life. Show more Show less
